Biggest Computer Disasters?

Title says it all,

Mine would be trying to take off  a large CPU air cooler and having the whole CPU chip coming out of the socket (Yes the cpu was latched down)

Nothing too bad happened to me but my grandma tripped on her laptop altough I told her to never lay it on the floor. Screen was shattered and could be easily replaced

That time I deleted a .dll off of my moms laptop to make room to install the sims (can't remember which one, but it was WAY back before the sims 2).

I knew nothing about computers, it bricked the laptop to the point the IT store couldn't fix it apparently.

Dropped cola over the keyboard. Don't even bother to clean it. That won't come off

Hm.... trusting my dad to keep my 760K safe. He decided the box was to bulky so he took it out of the packaging. Pins bent and broken, it was a disaster.

Is it bad that my dream setup only costs a few thousand not counting the obutto?

Just... You know.... Got my fucking hand stuck here when my computer was in a shitty Rosewill Redbone with a cross threaded stand off and that requires holding it with pliers to remove the motherboard and I didn't have the time... So I just installed the cooler.

Yeah it was nuts, for whatever reason, they couldn't even wipe the HDD and replace the OS, whatever I deleted, basically made the HDD useless and it had to be replaced entirely.

I have a Dell Optiplex 755 (size: 'desktop') and I accidentally pushed it, and it fell... I heard boom and thought shit. Luckily it fell on the side where also some rubber things were, and it didn't care lol :D. It's only like 12 cm wide, and pretty tall, so very easy to topple over :/

deleting a .dll file CAN NOT brick a computer. Something else happened.

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

Grounding failed in my wall socket, don't know when. Some time later, power surge. Happens all the time...come home and clocks are blinking. No bigs right, just power on again, right? Wrong. Blue sparks, smell of burning plastic.

No better excuse in the world to do a new build, though.

I never really had anything devastating happen to one of my pcs yet, I only broke off a part of the pcie lock when installing my gpu (it still locks anyway).

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

Let my mother use my desktop. She ended up getting a virus that deleted the path to every program I had installed and I slowly lost access to everything.

A couple years ago I thought I was being smart and took the ram out of my old pc and put it back in again. I booted it up again about a month later, I was using a newer mac instead, and it gave me an error screen. My dad brought it to get repaired for a free "diagnosis". It turned out that I hadn't put my ram in all the way, it was slightly out of its slot. They decided to charge me 40 dollars because they had to open the case.

I'm just telling you what they told us, and what we ended up having to do. Granted I was like, 11, so you're moving backwards of 15 almost 15 years of alcohol and weed use so...lol

Using a PowerCool AUBA-B "750W" PSU to keep my PC stable during benching.

Core i5 3570K 4.9GHz @ 1.53V. Probably was consuming a metric ton of power. Plus both GTX 660s where under full stress.

got a real PSU now, SuperNOVA 850W G2 <3

The PowerCool now powers my green desk underglow.

Our Grace. The Feathered One. He shows us the way. His bob is majestic and shows us the path. Follow unto his guidance and His example. He knows the one true path. Our Saviour. Our Grace. Our Father Birb has taught us with His humble heart and gentle wing the way of the bob. Let us show Him our reverence and follow in His example. The True Path of the Feathered One. ~ Dimboble-dubabob III
