Your MOST tech impulse buy?

My Ipod or my laptop. Neither of which I use very often. :(

My Logitech G502. Was planning on buying a new mouse but not this one. Got it for ~50€ instead of 60€+.

Fortunately I don't regret it so far, I usually never buy things spontaneously.

I've bought sleeved cable extensions on impulse alone, noctua fans for my entire case (at least those had some sort of tangible use), and I just bought some new $200 Sony bluetooth headphones on impulse at Frys'. They do sound excellent though, so not a real money waster...at least that is what I have made myself believe.

Impulse buying, Only a few things really.

-My Acer G226HQL monitor. 1080p is necessary they said. It will change how you game they said. Waste of money I say. Would have been far better off with a 16:10 IPS screen with Displayport...

-My Moto G and Verizon prepay plan. I knew I don't like Android, but I needed a phone as the payphone has been removed from that store. Decent purchase actually. Would buy again (versus the only other phone there, which was Tmobile, and they suck service wise in this town).

-Vizio 42" 1080p t.v. and RCA 1.2 KW 5.1 system. Both are decent, though the "smart TV" is not very smart (netflix rarely launches, Amazon prime app refuses to acknowledge that the internet is there, and the Pandora app does not communicate with the reciever (it will play through the intergated speakers, just not the 5.1 system). Returned it 3 times before it sank in that it was a software error, not a bad batch of Television sets.). It makes a great monitor though (I do not game on it "yet", but it is decent for watching videos, and acting as a HUD for system monitor programs.). The sound system I have no arguments against at all. I would spend the $99 sale price or $249 retail price all over again.

those are the only impulse purchases even remotely tech related recently.

I literally just go an HP Stream 7 in today, when it dropped to 80 bucks I just said screw it and bought it even though I have no real need for it and wasn't even thinking of buying one.

I've also gotten into the habit of buying portable battery chargers when they're on sale, got 6 of them now.

Wow i'm pretty inept if i can't find a stand like that. Was looking for a stand like this. How is it?

It's a decent stand. You do need a few inches on the back of your desk though. I had to cut a wooden block in order for it to fit on my desk. Also, it is rated for 24" monitors, but anything over 21-22" is a tight fit and is difficult to adjust.

Saw that it was rated for 24 inch. Even the 19s in the screenshot looked real tight.

I have a 24, a 22, and a 19 in this setup. I find myself using the 22(which is on the left) less often because it is angled far away from me making it difficult to view. The 24 is in the middle and the 19 on the right is pretty adjustable. If you have monitors over 22" go with a stand rated for 27"

My set of four JBL car speakers, JBL tweeters and Alpine head unit. I was in the store for something completely different and then just saw that all of the car electronics are on sale so I just bought everything I could possibly need to upgrade my existing stuff.

Not the most expensive thing, or necessarily tech-related, but I will say the key caps I bought from WASD. I love them, but I can't help but wonder why I spent £70 on key caps.

Impulse buys occur more for me when I suffer from a lack of sleep and have that slight buzz feeling. My last one I ended up getting a Corsair 750D (replace an old crappy 932 HAF, use to have a Corsair 800D but won't get into that), and a Corsair H110 (to replace my H100). Not to mention purchasing a XB280HK (1 year interest free).

So far gaming at 4K on my SLI GTX 780 Ti has been pleasant but I do feel the bottleneck of that 3GB of VRAM. I just don't get why Nvidia had to cheap out the 780 Ti. The damn card cost a fortune (not to mention getting two of them). So much power with so little VRAM.

I've bought sleeved cable extensions on impulse alone, noctua fans for my entire case (at least those had some sort of tangible use), and I just bought some new $200 Sony bluetooth headphones on impulse at Frys'. Dude there are awesome free PS+ games now go play them.

I'm usually good at resisting impulse buys but I once bought a Voodoo2 8MB because a store I went to happened to have it in stock. I did need a good 3D card because I was using a Matrox G200 at the time and that really didn't have the 3D performance I wanted.
