Is it only me that's seen this community go downhill over the past year, just sheer amount of hate towards someone who uses one brand and jump on the 'he hasn't got what I have so let's insult him' bandwagon?

 

It's sad because this community is great, but there are a few people that are pulling it down but the mods do nothing about it, and it's the SAME PEOPLE EVERY TIME!

It's sad because this community is great, but there are a few people that are pulling it down but the mods do nothing about it, and it's the SAME PEOPLE EVERY TIME!

I've seen people be more vocal about their opinions, but not hate wise.

Welcome to the cruel world. Every community has it's bad apples. Some have more than others. And bigger the community, more assholes there are.

Never trust my advice. Only take any and all advice from me with a grain of salt. Just a heads up.

The amount of people "hating" is not very high at all. Of course there are discussions over products, and *sometimes* brands when they have more or less the same issues or advantages with all their products. I never really discuss with people over what they already own, it's dumb and won't change anything; what I will do is try to convince new buyers not to purchase things that I feel are a waste of money or a bad purchase.

 

If you have any complaints about how some people behave (you say they are always the same people) just report them to a moderator. If they do nothing it's probably because it wasn't as bad as you thought.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

It's against CoC as well. It's only really okay, if they're polite and they post a link to the original as well.

Everyone who's been around since back then has acknowledged it and some have even left due to it.

 

I know, and it's so sad to see such good people leave over it. The part that annoys me is when someone is genuinely asking for help, and instead they get sniped with someone telling them how crap the product is instead of actually giving some good advice and helping them.

There were people who acted like children here when the forum was born and there still is. In my opinion it hasn't gotten any better or worse. The number of people have vastly increased though so you're more likely to stumble upon posts like these today.

What bothers me more is that the mods seem to very little about it. I've reported several before which seems to have no effect on the individuals at all, so i generally don't bother any more.

OP you have to be kidding with this comment.  There is almost no hate/toxic crap on here.  Heck I saw more hate and such on the Evolve message boards on Steam in one day than I have ever seen on LTT.  Yes I will get into it with people who clearly are trolling my comments but I should be allowed that.  Also there is this thing called a Report button. Use it.

Too many ****ing games!  Back log 4 life! :S

Every community I've been a part of goes through this kind of stuff. It's always "better back in the day". It was for you, it will be for me, it will be for the people who join in 6 months. Communities evolve all the time. Things change. I have not been here long enough to say it's changed for the worst, but everyone is bound to think that at some point.

circle jerks are a common occurrence on a forum. forums and circle-jerks (i.e. a bunch of people echoing each other non-stop in a confirmation loop) co-exist like jam on toast. Trying to stand in the middle of a negative one and defend the target isn't going to stop it from happening. Anyone with enough sense will stay away if they disagree. There are always going to be the agitating fanboys that never stop trying to antagonize the community or individuals, but fortunately you can ignore people on most forums in the settings. personal attacks on the other hand are juvenile and never called for.
