Mad Catz's LYNX 9 Controller is a Robot In Disguise.

werto165

This has got to be the craziest controller I've seen in a while, mad catz's appear to be really mad when it comes to the design deparment.

" the gamepad is designed to work with both your PC and Android devices, and it can change shapes to better suit whatever platform you're on."

"It can wrap around a tablet, hold a smartphone in place, and you can even snap in a QWERTY keyboard so you can chat while you play. And when you're all done, the Bluetooth-powered controller folds up nice and neat. The modular device also features a built-in mic, has an estimated 30 hours of battery life, and comes with an Android app so you can configure and tweak the sticks and buttons, much like you would on a PC."

With a price tag of $299.99, expect to see one in the "wild" come march time.

Wonder if the controller comes with a super bright light, just for those lens flare shots when doing a review. *cough* *cough* Michael bay, might even explode when you take it out of the box.

Personally I think that this product is pretty silly, there aren't many games on android worth playing, and most that are good, utilize the touch screen anyway. I just see the product selling terribly and down the line there will be a huge price cut to try and actually sell any, I mean you can get a full functioning device for about this much, 1+1 im looking at you

That...looks pretty good imho.

Sort of understand the price though. Who else offers a controller that can snap on phones AND tablets at varying size while also being able to contract itself into a pocket sized.

It says it has 30 hours of battery life, but I doubt the actual product will survive that long.

I have a feeling that this won't sell very well.

Nice to see that it's size-adjustable for tablets but still...that price-tag is ridiculous and none of the features justify it - at least for me.

For that price the least they could do was make the d-pad be 4 individual buttons rather than the single molded piece of plastic.

I can understand why console makes use a single molded + but on a high end controller I want ever single direction to be an individual button.

Actually Mad Catz PC peripherals are actually very comfortable. I own the MMO 7 and it's the nicest mouse I've used in a long time :P

I agree the controller is rather expensive but if it can be used on all devices and change shape to suit play styles then why not lol

If its wide to hold tablets and phones can it be collapsed to a smaller size? The bottom middle piece looks like it slides up. It says is folds smaller when your done but not about in use.

I run my browser through NSA ports to make their illegal jobs easier. :P
If it's not broken, take it apart and fix it.

Mad Catz and their brave 300.

That's a more-than-decent tablet right there.....

I'd buy it if it was 200USD or less!

Mad Catz have the top tier designer when it comes to their mouse and now this controller. It looks very robotic and sexy as fuck. However the handles look a bit too long on the photo.

My 1st thought was "terminator skull" :)
