Nothing needs to be updated but you could always get a second 4GB 770 and or get another 8GB of ram. Oooor get a 1080p display for $100.

My arsenal: i7-9700k Gaming Rig, an iPhone, and Stupidity.

It's surprising how a lot of people don't read through and pay attention to the little details.

I'd say sell that 770, and try and get a 970. If not, I think the 780 Ti's are selling for some seriously good deals on eBay, so you could risk a used one.

If you don't have enough money for that, maybe get the 4790K (Make sure it has a "K" at the end) so you can overclock your CPU a little.

My build: tis be ordered

Sell your i7, then buy i7 4790K or i5 4690K and buy EVGA  SuperNova HEX PSU

Ummm.. No. His CPU is not bottlenecking anyway.

Nah, keep you money. Upgrade when ever you see need for it. You'll get much better deal later.

Why should he sell his i7 4790 non K for a K version?

Doesn't he lose too much of his investment for it to be worth it?

I am pretty sure it's worth around 50% of normal cost.

Srsly, I wouldn't upgrade any of it. You should rather safe your money. Maybe at some point one component might fail and then you need the money or you want to upgrade your graphics card.

Don't just spend your money because you have some!

I would say, perhaps get;

More ram, or hdd storage if you need or wish to future proof.

Or perhaps get a gtx 970 instead of your 770 and a celebrating meal with your 970.

Is the jump from 1680x1050 to 1080p that big?

Don't do anything, save that extra money for a time when you will need it. That money plus a bit of birthday money can get you a 980 or dual 970s for the future!

Oh wow, excuse me for being blind :P

Well other than a second display, I don't know what you could get.

Maybe the BENQ XL2422Z or something (that 1080p 144Hz one) if you actually get 144fps or something..

You're probably are better off just saving our money and waiting for when the 970's are cheaper or something (and you can get a 970 + new CPU or something..)

I would buy a 1080p or 1440p IPS monitor, and use your current monitor as a secondary display.
