That explains the BF4 server downtime yesterday! I really dislike this because I play BF4 after a long day as a way to destress and relax and couldn't do so yesterday :(

going for steam is like committing suicide, hackers are going to witch hunt whoever does it, and google probably has server capacity to handle request from everyone in the planet, i'm sure they get DDoS a lot but their servers just tank it
