Am I the only one who prefers to play a game alone instead of with a group of random people or friends? I have recently noticed that I never play with my friends on PSN. I honestly do not like playing with others. I like doing things on my own at times. I enjoy a great single player than a crappy Online Multiplayer. I was recently playing Mirrors Edge, which was quite a fun, difficult and new game that I had experienced before. I beat the game today and just thought to myself.. What would this game be like with a multiplayer? How would online gameplay be with other players in the rooftops, or streets? I then realized.. this game.. would be horrible with multiplayer. This game was meant for single player. I never play online with others, so I rarely play. Last week on Sunday I downloaded and began to play Mirrors Edge. I had so much fun! I finished the game today, knowing that I won't touch my PS3 in perhaps, a few days, or even weeks. I really wish that game designers or creators would focus on fueling their game up with a great single player experience. Maybe there aren't many people who have good internet or maybe they enjoy a great story worth playing. Does anyone agree?

It depends on the game for me,

Games like GarrysMod, GTA 5 and minecraft i prefer playing with friends, however some of the other games I play I definitely prefer playing Solo. I'm the kinda person who prefers the campaign over the multiplayer in most FPSs.

Space Journal #1: So Apparently i  was dropped on the moon like i'm a mars rover, in a matter of hours i have found the transformers on the dark side of the moon. Turns out its not that dark since dem robots are filled with lights, i waved hi to the Russians on the space station, turns out all those stories about space finding humans instead of the other way around is true(soviet Russia joke). They threw me some Heineken beer and I've been sitting staring at the people of this forum and earth since.

In FPS games, I dive straight into the multiplayer. Then, after getting bored of it, I switch to Campaign. I enjoy the cool shootouts, cutscenes and characters, but mostly end up disappointed or surprised on how games are providing such and empty Campaign. I also agree that it depends on the type of game. Sometimes I prefer to play by myself in GTA V Online rather than with friends. I enjoy it more and have nothing to worry about.

Depends entirely on what game.

A game like minecraft is nothing without online multiplayer.

i find minecraft fun to play alone. have you ever played something like hcf (hardcore factions)?

I like playing RPG, Platformers, Fighting, Sidescrolling, Puzzle and Strategy games. I do play some online games such as MoBA, SC2 and some old favorites like AoE1/2, SC1, C&C etc. on private servers... but they are infinitely less enjoyable unless my team mates and my opponents have equal or greater skill than my own.

i find playing alone to be soothing and relaxing at some points but then my m8s will decide to ruin my peaceful gaming session, join the ts channel, and somehow manage to sloth me into playing csgo.

I think playing multiplayer sucks quite a bit 99.9% of the time. But once in a while i find myself in an awesome group and then its great

Usually I play games solo, but some games are not the same without someone there to experience it with you. I have so many good memories of my cousin and I playing GTA SA together. Plus Borderlands is a helluva lot easier with someone else.

Haven't played it before, i'll look into it. But when minecraft comes to a pint, when there's little to do and you don't' want to grind, playing with friends is always better.

It is an amazing moment. Imagine being in your happy place; you are just taking a nice soothing stroll, everything is going well, confetti is falling and then... out of nowhere.... you hear " hey fag, quit being such a b**ch, you are f***in sh*t! And then in your happy place, A MASSIVE STORM APPEARS, VOLCANOES ERUPT AND EVERYTHING FALLS APART. (Pardon the foul language)

The last multiplayer game I've played was EVE online. I quit the game and sold my account at least 5 years ago. I prefer playing games solo, away from my friends and family. I use gaming mostly for decompression these days. I'm getting too old to put up with childish behavior with multiplayer game these days. While I'm gaming, i just want to  be left the fuck alone.

I actually prefer single player games over multiplayer. This is mainly due to the fact that I enjoy rpg's.

I don't play many multiplayer games. It's nowhere close to as good as local MP for me. I don't have a mic or cam, and if either are required to form a strategy, I'd rather be doing something else. Didn't mind the MMO experience until it got to the "50 DKP minus" point.
