Project MEGA - My New Main Rig

Are you going to mod that case to the pic you posted earlier? Or do I just have to wait and see?

Well the picture I posted would be build from scratch. I don't think there's any way I could turn the 350d into that. I'll probably end up modding the 350d though.

  • 4 weeks later...

Well I don't want to give too much away, but here's a very rough concept for the scratchbuild  ;)

UPDATE!! And happy new years!

Finally right? If you've been following my build at all, then your probably wondering where the hell it went. I do have some final pics and, well, not much else to say, so for anyone that actually likes to read and not just look at build logs' pretty pictures, I won't hold you up any longer. Here are the glamour shots of both the PC and the setup it powers:

Final shipment of boxes... from about three weeks ago. Again, sorry it took so long guys  I've been enjoying my time off school a bit too much.

I didn't take any pictures of the building process because it wasn't anything special. If you want a very detailed build log, go check out my Project NANO (Shameless Plug  :D) Here she is in her natural habitat.

Anyone who enjoys hockey (unless you have something against the Blackhawks) should appreciate this beauty. She hangs right above my desk

I also figured I'd share a few of my awesome, and taken by yours truly, wallpapers that cycle throughout the day.

Tell me what you think guys! This is probably the end of the build log unless anyone requests any different photos. If I ever do any mods to this system, they will most likely be in a different thread. I'm a ways off from having to make that decision though, so at this point I'm just rambling. Hope you like my rig!

Yup! Just some heavy duty Velcro. It used to be up top but I moved my desk and I like it better there.

You are hiding the left speaker behind the monitor :(

I know I know  :( It sucks but there's just not enough room on my desk. I've been looking to get a new desk because this one is too small and I've had it for the better part of  five years so its getting a bit beat up. Until then though, the speaker remains where it is. Its actually not quite as bad as it looks.

I'm not worried to much about looks, but the sound quality!

That's one of the options I've been looking at for my new desk. I really like the fact that you can completely customize the desks to your liking but the lengths that they come in are a bit awkward for the space I have and my mom doesn't like the idea of DIYing it. I could very easily cut one down with a jigsaw and then just re-drill the leg holes.
