Should we Post the Booth Babe Video?

LinusTech

Im laughing my ass off at this whole argument the biggest sexists here are the ones that think someones job is not valid just because you wear sexy clothes its the ladys choice what she wants to do with her life who are you to demean her by saying that chose is wrong just because she looks sexy

And you keep repeating "it's sexist". Is that really helping your argument or does it solidify the fact that you have yet to make a valid argument?

Sexual objectification is the act of treating a person merely as an instrument of sexual pleasure, making them a "sex object"Objectification more broadly means treating a person as acommodity or an object, without regard to their personality or dignity. Objectification is most commonly examined at the level of a society, but can also refer to the behavior of individuals.

Also, the point of Booth Babes is to grab someone's attention so they actually look at their product. It's like handing out samples so you may buy the product.

As the majority of the Tech community is Male, companies find it easier to grab attention with a woman.

If it's any less than 90% in favour, it will not be posted.

I voted no since this is a tech channel so it doesn't "belong" here, but you can always make it available to only this forum/twitter followers via a link. There isn't anything wrong with the video content itself.

Also, from what I know, LinusTechTips isn't like Techquickie, which has sponsored content (correct?), so post whatever videos you like! Anyone who doesn't want to watch it may choose not to.

I can't rememeber which country it was but there was a huge outcry when the Goverment tried to pass a law to ban women from wearing mini skirts etc. If they choose to do the job and are comfactible with it then so be it. I would say it is more sexist to not let women wear that type of clothing...

Please explain to me how it's sexist? They are getting paid to perform a job. They chose to be there. It's their right. Who are you to say it's sexist because they are working and then assuming that people would perform sexual acts on themselves while watching the video. That's incredibly immature on your part.

Very good point actually..

This is a pretty sad thread. All the people saying no are giving the worst excuses. It's degrading to women even though they are going there and signing up for this themselves.

Some of you need to grow up. This is not sexist in the least. You are worse than some feminist. I take it you do not go to strip clubs because that's degrading. Or to the bar or club because there are women wearing skimpy dresses/clothes there also. Grow up learn this is part of the word. Sex sells. That's why they are their. It's not sexist to learn the truth about women being good looking and to get men's attention.

It's booth babes. Not god dam women jumping on a trampoline or washing a car in a bikini. The one's saying no because it's disrespectful remind me of the losers who think they get "friend zoned" yet never talk to the girl or say anything and expect her to make a move.

Some people here act like there's only female models. Here's the reality...there's male and female models. Go to any store that sells underwear, and you'll see what I mean. And there's many women who model on Facebook pages. There's nothing sexist about it. Companies use female models because the majority of techie people are men. They are trying to appeal to the mass market.

Anyone here think male superheroes shouldn't be drawn with tights on?

Women like the attention ... sooo ... Don't get me wrong. I respect women but they're doing a job they wanted to do. They wanted to be gazed upon by the thousands of eyes that they hope would later drift on to their products. Like shit, unless they were there to educate us about computers.

What I see here, is you attempting to objectify them. "with out regard to their personality" maybe they like people looking at them and that's why they became models! you are attempting to say that their choices should not be respected because you feel like it is not proper. If they want to dress in a revealing manner to show themselves off, then who are YOU to tell them otherwise?! You are trying to act like they are victims. They are no more victims than any porn actor, or model for clothing, or anything else. They look good and they like to have people look at them looking good. That is their choice and you have no right to attempt to say that their choice is not right.

Post the video.

I subscribed to a tech channel to look at tech. Not to look at "babes". End of story.

If its put on the techquickie channel then fine; but it wont happen because tech quickie is a professional channel which is how I view the main channel.

Random irrelevant vids should go on the Cat Tips Channel.
