Meh. I'd be a whole lot more interested if it was the itx 970 instead of the much older, much lower 760.

It doesn't really need to be moved so don't worry about it.

Why would he do the 760 now that the 970 has an ITX version?

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

Price $$

That would be a point if AMD had a higher tier ITX GPU but they don't. Should put the best up against the best which would still be 285 vs. 970

I'd agree if they were in the same price points...

I think it's more of a buyers guide type of thing, which one to get if you had around $200

He addresses this really early on in the video... I would imagine (apart from price, like others have said) it's also because AMD always marketted this as competition for the GTX 760.

Did everyone who is posting actually watch the video?

He specifically mentions the 970 being $100 more than these two cards and specifically made the video to discuss itx videocards for itx situations for itx cases.

~15 replies and nobody really talks about the results of the video... lol

I'm thinking all the nVidia fanboys on the forum don't like the fact that AMD made a GPU that runs cooler, quieter and faster. :P

On a more serious note; Not too surprised by the results. Knew the 285 was a little stronger to begin with. It also has a higher TDP of 190w vs. 170w in the 760, so there's that. The cooler on the Sapphire looks more robust and better designs vs. the MSI as well.

Just my two cents.

itx 760 - $220

itx 285 - $260

760 min 34 max 56 avg 45
285 min 40 max 69 avg 56 (used mantle results for thief)

285 has 18% higher min framerate, 23% higher max framerate 24% higher average frame rate

285 is 18% more expensive. 285 costs more, but is the better value. (also cooler & quieter)

Was really surprised to see the 760 running that hot! ...

I'm not. Remember that these are ITX cards. Very limited cooling capabilities.

I can't wait to see Linus get his hands on the ITX 970.

The 970 just came out. The r9 285 was made to compete with the 760 they are comparing it to.

I'm curious as to what case they used to bench the cards with. Since these are such special use carda, they should be benched in a similar real usage scenario.

In other words, they should be tested in a ITX case. Or else the thermals and alike wont be accurate.

well if the runed on a open bench and 760 runs that hot, i don't want to see it run in a itx case :S
