If you want more performance/eye-candy, sure? Do you have anything against dropping that kind of money?

If you feel you need the performance and you can find a good deal on one, go for it.

For a 1080p monitor i'd say it's a waste. If i were you i'd much rather try to get a 24' 1440p

Unfortunately I don't think your motherboard supports SLI, it appears to be one of the limitations of the chipset. It seems to support XFire, but not SLI:

I may be wrong for you specific board, but it seems H87 can't divide PCIe lanes effectively.

Ignore this, it has been pointed out that my brain didn't think about this before I posted it.

You will be fine for XFire. Sorry for the confusion.

*psst* the 290x is a AMD card and supports crossfire. SLi isn't an issue here.

You call it winter? I call it cold summer (the other seasons being wet summer and hot summer, Singapore is close enough to my country)...

do you really need the extra gpu power

Don't

Totally not needed.

yes if you cant pay in a decent frame rate

no if you can play games at decent frame rate

Im actually thinking of getting a 290x with a 1440p or even a 4k monitor.... I was wondering whether i should add the 290x FIRST because of the black friday sales!
