...what the hell is an Astroturfer?

 

I picture them being more mature (in age, this forum is filled with young teens, and thus also in general attitude), and they don't flame Apple.

 

I love this forum and all but this right here is the difference between LTT and places like overclock.net. For some reason many young teens come here and hell, being 15 I'm one of them. But I feel like this young teen atmosphere causes a lot of drama that other places just don't have/tolerate. Adding onto this I've noticed LTT is very lax on the bans. As soon as you say anything at any other forum such as overclock.net you get permabanned just like that. I can't tell if I prefer either of the two styles but it is an observation.

I was just talking about this in another goodbye thread. No structure on LTT. Every single thread ends up off topic and a flame war it seems. Nobody to keep things on track. You have to wade through the shit to find an answer or something constructive some times. At least its entertaining though lol

It's definitely a tough call. A lot of threads here that get closed I feel are done heavy handedly, so I do appreciate the rather lax, open atmosphere this forum has.

I think warnings might be better than bans, and perhaps more mod involvement beyond merely closing the thread.

It's like training a kid. If you don't tell it why it's been bad or what it's done wrong, it'll continue to do so.

 

I very, very rarely see mods actually post.

It's like the Wild West up in this...

 

 

tldr, people that get paid in order to leave a good impression of a company, person, etc regardless of having flaws, problems, etc, its kinda like disguised rep

Just because someone disagress with you doesn't mean they're ignorant. Although from what I know of you, you tend to be one sided in some discussionsand rather open in others.

If you tell the people flaming to STFU and leave your thread/report them to the mods, you can get an answer. It's not a good solution, but it's the best one at this time.
