$1600 for a headphone amp is quite cheap considering how expensive they can be if you go really, really high-end. I paid 700€ for my current amp (Naim Headline + Naim NAPSC PSU) and I'm tempted to get the Sennheiser HDVA 600 for my HD800's and that goes for about 1500€ (~$2000).
