Would You Ditch your PC if Consoles Had the Same Horsepower as High End Gaming Rigs?

Regardless of current perfomance difference between PC & Consoles, if  consoles are able to put the performance under similar price tag to a PC gaming experience, would you switch to consoles for same exprience as the PC..(gpu+cpu)

What will you do?.......

Details separate people.

No, just because it may have the ability to game fine. It will not be the same for productivity, and you can't upgrade a console

You can but that's just another thing i have to buy to use it. Though it'll be fun to destroy the people who play with controller.

But I don't think it works as well as on the computer. And, computers offer more 'freedom' compared to consoles so PC wins automatically :D

I prefer pc as i can have two monitors, i have modding, i dont pay for online, games are cheap, i can watch anime and play games, chatting with friends is very easy, keyboard and mouse, backwards compatibility, emulators. But the biggest part is that i can take pride in the fact that i built this pc, it works because of me, a console wasnt made by me, i cant have that same emotional attachment.

I would never, ever, ditch my PC. Gaming-wise I wouldn't care tbh, but PCs are used for much more than that

I would stick with PC. There's nothing like a multi monitor display setup and having cheaper games on steam than spending £50+ every time I want a new game. There is no substitute for dual booting and being able to upgrade hardware whenever I want to stay with the times, instead of being locked to a console that will have mid to low end graphics after 2 or 3 years.

Not a chance in hell. I'd go back to playing nothing but pokemon silver on a gameboy color before getting another console.

I went through a phase where I only gamed on console (PS2 era), and at that point in time I gave zero scoops about performance. I had an old clunker pc for internet etc... and I was fine with the arrangement. One day I discovered MMO's, and the rest was history. haven't bought a console since my PS2, even though I burned myself out on MMO's years ago.

My only reason to buy a console again would be exclusives, not performance.

and yeah, keyboard and mouse is not only doable on console, but there are a lot of COD players on console that use kb/m, and trample anyone using a controller. its almost sad because its borderline cheating, but overall just really funny.

The answer is no. There is a lot more about what you can do with your PC than what you can do with a console.

Now, if PC was a lot more expensive than a console, I would still not ditch my PC, but maybe get a console just for the exclusives.

Wouldn't even consider it unless then console could use keyboard and mouse as well, That's the main issue for me.

The thing is that the one thing Games Consoles makes it easy to play games, as I find PC Gaming can be a massive buzz kill when a Game flat out wont work on your system due to driver issues or some bollocks like that.

With a console you:

1. Buy the Game

2. Put Game into Console

3. Play the Game

No need to worry about anything else.

However would people pay £1000 for a console? No, which the console would have to be to have these specifications.

So Yes but only if prices stayed about £350-£400 and below.

Main Machine:  16 inch MacBook Pro (2021), Apple M1 Pro (10 CPU, 16 GPU Core), 512GB SDD, 16GB RAM

Gaming Machine:  Acer Nitro 5, Core i7 10750H, RTX 3060 (L) 6GB, 1TB SSD (Boot), 2TB SSD (Storage), 32GB DDR4 RAM

Other Tech: iPhone 15 Pro Max, Series 6 Apple Watch (LTE), AirPods Max, PS4, Nintendo Switch, PS3, Xbox 360

Network Gear:  TP Link Gigabit 24 Port Switch, TP-Link Deco M4 Mesh Wi-Fi, M1 MacMini File & Media Server with 8TB of RAID 1 Storage

It was never the performance that kept me away from consoles but the lack of freedom. I love mods for video games, the flexibility of a PC can never be rivaled by the closed off console monstrosities.
