LTT 3DMark Thread

Are you kidding? I updated it twice yesterday and just because your score isn´t updated right away the very next day you are bitching about? Seriously?

EDIT: I will update when I have time, got something that´s called job...

I thought the thread was like Jumpers where its updated whenever a score is posted, don't be an ass.

Your FS score is invalid due to an instable CPU OC. I added it anyways because you are not competiting for any top results. FSE score is nice and 5.1GHz is a good achievment on your CPU.

All I did is put a extra +25 offset on my memory and got a higher score also I re-ran and sync'd my system clock with Microsofts servers and my time sync error went away. :)

Takes a bit of practice getting used to overclocking an i5, but I'm getting the hang of it. Think I got a good chip. I'm running 4.5GHz @1.26V and 4200MHz ring bus and I've only hit 71C at the highest so far with my 212 Evo and one fan. Going to keep stepping my 970 up bit by bit til I find my ceiling with it.

And I haven't had to change my RAM settings from the XMP profile, so I'm running it at full 1600MHz and 1.5V.

No. Either GM204 or GK110 is what he's getting at.

I am but the issue is Maxwell seems to like to throttle at ASIC score rating, at least from what Gofspar and Darkman have found out so far. So with that in mind I have no clue if the 980's are doing it and if the Titan X is gonna do it or not.

It's always been a silicone lottery. With a custom bios and proper cooling the sky is the limit on the voltage unlocked cards

That's the thing none of the Maxwell cards are truley voltage unlocked until you slap a custom BIOS or use a tool like the Classy Tool.

Sorry that´s not true if your ASIC or VRM is not good enough the water cooling won´t help you much in OCing. There are samples out there where you can´t apply too much voltage or as much as you want and these GPUs won´t OC as good as others.

And you have seen yourself how fairly easy it is to kill a GPU with a no limits BIOS. That being said that´s also possible with watercooling. Most of the people just regard the GPU temp. They don´t look at MC, VRM temp or GPU temp Delta.

And speculate now about a chip that´s not even on the market weather it´s worth to be bought because of its or its missing OC potential is IMHO nonsense. All I can say I find the game that AMD plays right now with us consumers a bad joke. Kind of announce a card but then not again and instead of bringing any facts to the table they leave us with nothing but more speculation, fanboy wars and a more or less confirmed launch for June 2015. And sorry I think nVidia had about enough with that waiting game. HBM or not Maxwell is a very potent architecture and a Titan X will be an absolut enthusiast decision to buy.

I can see comming all those jealous suckers out of their potholes and singing that the card is not worth it... just like they did with the original Titan. If I recall that correct performance wise the Titan with GK110 was about 8 months unmatched in performance. And sorry that´s a lot in the highend sector.

And even then it was the better choice for 4K until the Titan Black hit the market. The 6GB VRAM are a blessing for 4K even though the card doesn´t have, btw just like any other highend GPU available today, enough raw rendering power.

I run most of the time out of computing power before I run out of VRAM but nontheless the 4GB won´t be sufficient for games that hit the market this year if you plan to play in 4K. And why would I run a GTX980 3way SLI if not for 4K? Just for pure OCing it´s a waste of money. If the rumors are really true and the Titan X is 50% faster than the GTX980 I might consider just buying 2 of them and enjoy 4K un ULTRA.

AMD does nothing else but teasing people. And people write about HBM as if they´d work in the R&D department of AMD. Making statements that might make them look later at release like fools or prophets... I call that BS and until I don´t see this with my own eyes that 4GB HBM are as good as 6GB VRAM, which I doubt they are... then I´ll stick with nVidia.

You know you´d be better off with a single GM200 card. You can add one later down the road and enjoy brutal performance.

I like Maxwell better for OCing, it´s a more advanced architecture and what´s a GTX780Ti against a Titan X ;).

BTW I´m excited to see people´s face when AMD releases Fiji XT. Most of them really think AMD is going to charge less than 500USD... with the R&D of HBM and that AIO watercooling and large DIE my guess will be 700+ USD since they announced it as 'ultra enthusiast' GPU hehe.

Intel i7 7820X (delidded) @ 4.9GHz - MSI X299 M7 ACK + EKWB Fullcover Block - G.Skill Trident Z 32GB @ 3466MHz - nVidia Titan Xp + EKWB Fullcover Block @ 2.1GHz - Samsung 960Pro 2x - WDD Blue 2TB - Seasonic 750W Platinum - modded Corsair 600C - Hardtubed Custom Watercooling

Eh I haven't had much time with Maxwell to like it. Since I need raw GPU Compute performance still its why I'm still leaning towards Kepler.
