LTT 3DMark Thread

I can get my 5820k to run 19k at 4.82, but it runs pretty hot.  I usually just let it do it's thing at 4.75, which seems to be a much better comfort zone for it.

Funny that someone actually came to one of the benchmark threads specifically to bitch about benchmarks....O.o

I think most of us just think it's incredibly silly to come to a thread about benchmarks, just to say, " Hmm, i just find benchmarks so irrelevant as it comes to real gaming".  That's akin to searching out that which you don't like or don't agree with, just to bitch about it.

Not terribly difficult to understand.

its like bragging about horsepower at the crank with cars instead of talking about how much horsepower actually gets to the ground and how it is transferred to the ground to create forward motion.

Nuh

I have a unicorn dust processor, my speed cannot be measured.

Gaming is irrelevant to benchmarking. Why would you want to see how fast you can shoot noob on csgo when your PC is running much slower than it could :P

Actually, you came to a forum where there are discussions, stating an opinion in opposition to that of the majority of the people in said forum.

Yup....you're a troll. Another one for the blocked list.

It's like going into a careet and telling everyone that cars are stupid and they spend too much time and money on them. Or saying they are wasting time meeting up when they should be driving them.  You are going to get a negative response.

i can say whatever i want wherever i want, why is that statement bothering you so much? this place is free as far as i know. why are you making a discussion out of this?

I will not take back what i said.

You like bench marks, well do them?, i am not insulting you by disagreeing, i am just saying that i  do not whole heartedly believe in the method.

Are you trying to start a flame war? You are coming to a place where people like benchmarking and saying that benchmarks are stupid. Then you go ahead and get mad when people disagree with you. Of course they are going to do this, you are coming to a thread where the majority of people are benchmarking enthusiasts.

That's exactly what he's doing and we're all playing into it.  His comments were calculated.

Additionally, for a new guy, he's making a great first impression on LTT.

Thank you.  I'm trying to become more involved over at HWBot, and have found out that I'm going to need a lot more processor if I ever want to pile up any real points.  That, and I need to dig out all my old machines and run some benchmarks through them for hardware points.

I tried two different Broadwell-E chips and I'll be skipping it altogether unless future batches start clocking higher.  Skylake-X has my name all over it.  :D

I may try to find a 5960X on the cheap in the next few months, but the real upgrade will come from Skylake E, yeah.....

As long as you find one of the latest batches, you'll have a high clocker on your hands.
