What's the Oldest Hardware in Your System right now?

5-6 year old 500GB Hitachi HDD. Still works quite well.

My slightly younger 1TB Hitachi on the other hand is making very unhealthy sounding noises.

I just replaced it last week but it was my PSU I would say close to 8 years. Still was going strong, but was getting too loud so finally got rid of it... still have it as a backup tho.

My PSU. It's probably 8 or 9 years old. Still going strong. I do need to replace it though since 800W is really overkill for my build..

The oldest part from any of the systems still in use has to be a Maxtor 20GB IDE HDD (3.5", running at 5400RPM), or my Asus V7700 GeForce2 GTS/Pro 32MB.

Laptop: Intel Core i5-4200H, 8GB RAM, 750GB HDD, GeForce 840M

Hmm. It'd have to be my PSU. It's about 8 1/2 months old now?

Not very old. :P

I have a horribly colored orange SATA cable from an old Dell XP system that was part of my childhood. After that, the oldest thing is my R9 270X, which I bought used, so I have no idea the exact date of purchase. But if we mention that R9 270X = 7870 than it's 4 years old. (That's really sad from AMD, now that I think about it.)

Spoiler

CPU: AMD 5800X

GPU: Gigabyte Aorus 3070 Ti

SSD: WD SN850X 4TB x2

MoBo: Gigabyte Aorus Master B550

In my rig, probably the GTX560Ti 448 or the WD Caviar Blue 500GB, and in our lasses rig, A HD7850.

But beside me I have my NAS which is running a AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+

And not in a rig, but sat in an Anti-Static bag I have a ATi Rage128 16MB AGP and a nVidia MX420 AGP with either 32MB or 64MB of RAM. The ATi card is from 1998 and the MX420 is from 2002.

I had a Dell Inspiron 1300 from 2005/2006 with a Pentium M 1.73GHz overclocked to 2.26GHz via a pin mod, but I don't have that any more, shame really, cause it was an awesome laptop, and the laptop that got me into computers :)

Edit:

Oh, and I briefly owned a Dell Dimension 2300 with a Northwood P4 @ 1.8GHz and 256MB of SDR 100MHz RAM and a 40GB HDD. I keep forgetting about the old shit I used to have, I sometimes wish I still had some of it, cause I'd love to just tinker with it now.

The Wheel,  My car has four of them and they work.

For the Best builds and Price lists here is a world where many points of the price have been predefined already for your convenience!

The Xeon E3 1231 V3 IS BETTER Than the Core i5 4690K and a Significantly better value for the non-overclockers or value shoppers.

The OS is like a kind food, Try it before saying if you like it or don't.

I got some Logitech mice that are 11+ years old,. some computers form the 90s...

a space invader switch keyboard

I was made in the early 90s and I still work pretty well, though if the opportunity would present itself I would upgrade.

muh specs

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it.

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff.

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

Just because you don't care, doesn't mean other others don't. Don't be a self-centered asshole. -Thank You a PSA from the people who do not say random shit on the internet.
