For me it would be either Le Tour de France, or the Abu Dhabi F1 Grand Prix.

I dont know a single person that has ever watched Le Tour de France. They make a big deal of it every year, but who actually watches it? Just ignore it. Its shit.

And the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix circuit is the most boring race of the year. Too much straight line, too much open space around the track, and its always at night.

No, not le tour. I watched the whole of it last year, went to see it up by hebden bridge this year and love the race, it's outstanding to witness. Abu Dhabi I can agree with though, it's just boring, both to watch and play on F1.

The race I would get rid of though would be either the Bahrain Grand Prix or NASCAR. Driving and only turning in one direction makes such little sense that I couldn't ever watch it without falling asleep. I remember when they had the attempt to introduce it to Europe, aptly called ASCAR. It was awful to watch, and unsurprisingly didn't catch on.

Historic race to eliminate would be Imola 1994, as we would still have Ayrton Senna with us, and would never have to mourn the premature passing of the greatest driver ever.

Have watched every Tour de France as far back as I can remember. Its so big people park, camp days before the race along the race route from all over the world! Its the only sport where people get to be so close to the action and sometimes too close. Imagine going on a training ride with some pro's because they pretty much train on the same roads regular folks ride. Which other sport can have you rub elbows with the pro's on an average day with them doing their training/sport? You can also ride the same course they do just have to do it before they arrive to experience it yourself, not many sports let you do that, try getting on the field of your local pro football (soccer) stadium, well you could for a few seconds before having the @#%^ kicked out of you and being literally thrown out of the stadium of not escorted out in a police car. Races have grown out past Europe to the America's, Asia and parts of Africa, its pretty much year round now. If you want to see cycling in your neck of the woods get up early on the weekends and you'll see the big groups roll past or look up cycling in your region and you'll see why its popular.

 

That being said, the race I could do without would be pretty much all car races, well if they converted to electric motors maybe they could race some. Have to admit F1 is pretty cool since its on regular streets one could maybe try out on a quiet day

You didn't pay to get a license, pay for insurance, pay for registration or inspection on your bike, you haven't payed for or earned the right to use the roads. Get out of the way, some people have places to go and aren't just fucking off in the middle of the road for a few hours a day.

Your delusional to think that the money that you pay towards all the things you outlined above goes just to paying for roads and that people who don't drive don't still contribute to paying for road infrastructure.

There a people who can't afford to drive because it's fucking expensive. Car that is not a complete heap of shit is at least 1500, rego is another 500, don't remember how much licence is, and then there is the ongoing and rising cost of fuel. A bike that works and works well is sub 1200 and will just keep running of you take care of it. You can say ride on the footpath but there are times when that is a fucking stupid idea such as in a CBD and there are even time when it is illegal and you are required to ride on the road.

The ones that ride 2 across or sit 1 meter in on the road are idiots. Other than that you should have no issues passing them. Unless you are diving on the shittest roads I have seen, normally enough room for that. Riders should rides single file or at least merge into one when someone hears a car.

Actually in America, or at least Virginia I think they have the right of way for some reason, just like "the pedestrian having the right of way"....while that may be what the law says, it's a stupid law and it's wrong.
