Sony announces its latest flagship smartphone, the Xperia Z3

We hope you weren't getting too comfy with the months-old Xperia Z2 -- Sony has just unveiled another range-topping Android smartphone, the Xperia Z3. It's really a subtle evolution of its predecessor. You'll still find a 5.2-inch, 1080p display, a 20.7-megapixel camera and waterproofing, but there's now a more rounded aluminum frame. Sony has also added a new, wide-angle 25mm lens (to fit more into a shot) and extra-high ISO 12,800 light sensitivity. It's a little bit faster as well, with a speed-bumped 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 processor instead of the 2.3GHz chip you saw in the Z2.

will be available sometime this fall

WAT, YOU JUST RELEASED A PHONE ALREADY.

Sony has very openly stated that their flagship phones will be on a 6 month refresh cycle from here on out, to stay current and at the absolute pinnacle of technology.

Just because you didn't happen to read up on it, doesn't mean they screwed you over.

Personally I applaud the idea. As long as they keep their versions of Android equally updated.

The US Version hasn't even been out for 6 month though.

Doesn't matter. It was released internationally. Sony doesn't really focus on the US market when it comes to cellular devices.

Why the hell are flagship phones getting bigger each year? 5,2 inches would have been considered a phablet 2 years ago.

I knew that, but they haven't fixed all the problem with the Z2 yet. This is kind of giving me the feeling, that they wouldn't care anymore about the Z2 and wouldn't supply any more updates.

It really bothers me. I don't have monstrously large hands, and I don't want to have to use two hands to effectively use my phone. If I want something to watch movies on or just have a lot more screen real estate, I'll buy a 7" or larger tablet.

I have a recently released cheap Xperia. I will never buy any Sony Android smartphone again.

For some reason, the system is slower than cheaper samsung/LG phones with the same Android version. It restarts out of nowhere really often.

It's, unfortunately, bad.

Can't wait to go back to samsung.
