4.3 using stock cooler

Tried overclocking today when it was really cold, was able to get my 8320 to 4.3 at stock volts and stock heatsink with stable tempts (max was around 80) and did a stress test which ran for over 2 hours. was really surprised, but i put it back to stock clocks don't want to kill my cpu to soon.

80C is way too far.

80C is way too far.

80C isn't too far. I got my laptop 80C at idle, and I got it last month.

That's because your laptop has an intel CPU. OP is using an AMD FX8350.

AMD's desktop silicon is only rated for 61-62C

Well, Intel's Haswell desktop parts aren't officially rated for anything above 70C

ehh and it says i need a 600w psu for my gpu, yet who gives a shit.

Yeah I did. I'm just telling you that people who don't want their CPU to die in months don't let it exceed its thermal limit. You're fine since you put it back soon after, but some people are ignorant enough to think that Intel and AMD CPUs are the same, so AMD CPUs can also get to 80C no problem 24/7 which is absolutely not true.
