I might not know what I'm talking about but Comfortably Numb is the single most boring song I've ever heard in my life. Sorry just my opinion

With all the Trolls, Try Hards, Noobs and Weirdos around here you'd think i'd find SOMEWHERE to fit in!

Nice

i have the 1985 capitol records reissue version, reading audiophiles debate over which CD is best is amusing. I got such an old version just because I like the original album art.

It’s not typically a big deal as all the releases of a given album are decent, but there are some genuinely bad digital remasters of older albums. As time goes on and the original masters degrade further, re-releases of older albums are probably going to get worse.

My Current Setup:

AMD Ryzen 5900X

Kingston HyperX Fury 3200mhz 2x16GB

MSI B450 Gaming Plus

Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo

EVGA RTX 3060 Ti XC

Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB

WD 5400RPM 2TB

EVGA G3 750W

Corsair Carbide 300R

Arctic Fans 140mm x4 120mm x 1

Got myself a dual-socket X99 board with 2 Xeon E5 2690 V3s, along with 4 modules of the cheapest RAM I could find (don't have a picture of that) for a total of 170€.

My current plan for it is to use it for my folding rig, but I still need a PSU, a case and bigger coolers than the 2U server coolers I used for testing, before I can do that.

According to my rough calculations, the system would consume ~700W of power (with both GPUs and accounting for PSU losses)

I've bought quite a few things because I'm an impulsive idiot but this is what I actually have pictures of.

IMG_3976(1).thumb.jpeg.3308850803c0e8a73ca3dd46f0adc13e.jpeg

Left to right: 2TB 7200RPM SMR (unfortunately) HDD for $19.36 through work. Think this may end up going in a gaming rig for my GF. Then NIB copies of FM4 and The Gunstringer + Fruit Ninja Kinect.

IMG_4007.jpg.5116fe206a17c1c266715bdc48ded323.jpg

And Yoshi's Crafted World. I had 10 bucks in Target rewards to use so I figured I may as well get this since I've been wanting to try it, and also it brought the price down to like 38 dollars which is a little more reasonable.

I really need to stop buying old CD players, but what can you do with something like this falls under your eyes...

Also a period-correct album find at the thrift store

I'm post-justifying it by the fact it is actually my first/only perfectly working old CD player, and biggest window to the CD 😛

well finding one in stock was like finding a needle in a haystack .it was orginally released last year with the standard cardback (scalpers though, snapped up all the stocks, thus driving up the prices when its only a normal release ), but it was recently re-released with the special edition card back .. the actual car is based on the lancer fiore .had to get one since its the like the national car here ..on a side note , the car appeared in a mr bean episode where he was playing golf .. XD

Just got this little guy, it's a Tunai Firefly LDAC. £35, so not particularly expensive.

My car has a pretty nice Denon sound system, which sounds a lot better through AUX/CD, rather than the pretty clunky bluetooth mode that doesn't sound too great. Got this little nuget that enables Hi-Res bluetooth audio. Dongle uses an unnamed Cirrus Logic 127db SNR DAC (maybe a CS47L90). Of course, can be used to give Hi-Res bluetooth capabilities to a speaker amp as well.

Before you ask, yes, a lot of my music is Hi-Res, at least the stuff I've bought in the last two or three years. Anything older is standard res FLAC.

I'm blessed, my new Mazda supports the highest bitrate and quality Bluetooth that my phone can provide. It actually sounds pretty not bad. Additionally it can play Flac right off a thumb drive natively. 😁

My XTRFY MZ1 Zy's rail disconnects it's self when it wants to from the computer, seems to be a wire connection issue.

Using the Roccat Kone Aimo for now, it's a spare mouse, solid choice, but way way too heavy for games that require fast twitch movements.

So ordered...

it will be used to turn an IBM terminal base from 1985 into a word processor

maybe

i might just shove it in a thinkpad chassis because that would also be funny

I've been wanting to get a 3D printer for some time now. After a bunch of back and forth I decided to get a Bambu Lab P1S and the multi-spool add-on. I like the simplicity of setting it up. The test print of one of the included files went pretty well. I'm no expert in judging the print quality, but so far, I'm pleased with how simple and painless the process was. Time to test out some of my own designs next.
