Wanted the extra PCI Express lanes, and it looks kick ass! Plus it's grey/black so it pretty much goes with any color scheme.

I doubt I will ever do an X99 build, but if I did, it would use that mobo.

Good choice.

finally have real IEMs again. I have been using apple earpods for ages because i have broken so many nice IEMs and I did not want to spend that much money for i while. The sound isolation is fantastic as is the clarity of the sound compared to the earpods. They are not nearly as kind to shit files though which is to be expected. It also took me a little while to figure out how to best put them on seeing as i have never used over ear IEMs before.

They arrived. The California Laredo headphones. They are beauty, sturdy feeling (seriously, they feel like I could swing them around by the cord without damaging them), pretty heavy, braided and just awesome.

(never uploaded to the site before; forgive "noob" mistakes please! :) )

So far they sound good, but not so good in House music, where they appear to be really quiet. I played rock, country, soul, jazz, romance and some other genres and they were great. If you mostly listen to electronic music though, you might want to consider something else, or maybe the "better" version of the California headphones. They might be great for house/edm. However, I swear I can hear things in songs I listen to ALL the time that I never heard before. For example, in

I hear a lot of bass, and it feels like I have my stereo blasted out loud. lol

As for comfort, I got a tiny head so the size it came with, the smallest, seems absolutely perfect for me. The cups cover my ears entirely and nearly completely seal outside noise away very well. I can see why people said it could be uncomfortable for people with bigger heads though. There isn't a lot of padding on the top. You can feel the material wire underneath against the top of your head, and the clamping is very strong. I did what Logan did and boxed my ears by accident. lol

*I am coming from Sony headphones, by the way.

Bought a bar of chocolate...

iejqis.jpg

4,5 KG or 10 pounds.

My dad always gets a toblerone bar for his birthday, this time I'll get him this one, a tad bigger

Update: 2rgn82b.jpg

He loved it, there were around 12 people when he opened the present, we all ate enough to fill our stomaches, still that was only 2/3rd of one of these blocks, guess how long my dad alone will be able to last with this sucker

So many things I could write here... things like this.

@Calavera

What does it cost?

Well I had to import it from England via Ebay since they're really scarce ... chocolate is getting expensive since the cocotrees had some kind of fungal infection thus the production has decreased and Asians are really starting to like chocolate as well, so yeah - prices have gone up by almost double of what it used to be 5 years ago.

This particular bar cost me around €95 or $110 or 72 pound.

Good choice.

I'd intended to go with an mATX X99 build, even bought a Caselabs case with pedestal stand, but have since ran out of steam, so to say. I find my enthusiasm for such builds to be waning lately. I might go ahead and build an X99 rig when the R9 390X is released, but I'll have to see if I can muster the enthusiasm for such a build, since my X79 is still going strong. Anyway, working on a couple of headphone deals, an AKG K812 (very iffy) and a Sony MDR Z7, will also be getting an SMSL M8 DAC when stock arrives, as usual, will post pics of whatever I can get my hands on.

i got sick of running out of space

Is this for your phone? You're gonna find 32GB fills up rather quickly with some movies, songs and pics installed. I have a 128GB mSD card installed in my LG G Pro 2 and I have only 30GB left. I'm looking forward to Saygus V2, announced at CES, it spots 64GB onboard + 3GB VRAM, and best of all, 2x mSD slots for 2x 128GB mSD cards (plus 64GB onboard) for a total of 320GB!  I will be back with pics of my audio purchases in a few days, just confirmed the AKG K812 purchase, so damn stoked! :D

blipity blop blop

not telling you what to do, but i also had my 2 840 evos in raid0, but after i got myself a new hdd, i broke the raid array and i didn't notice any real difference

only thing that's better is, easier ssd management with samsungs magician, rather than intels raid tool

the thing that's better when you have raid0 array is... benchmarks

and what else do you have in mind to do, that's gonna take you 48h to complete? :D

A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals and you know it.
