I uh...

Hc9yw.png

I had no idea this got a Greatest Hits release. Suffice to say, I'm adding it to my collection.

One of these days I'll also have myself the extremely uncommon Platinum Family Hits Xbox version of Lights, Camera, Pants! in my collection.

Check out my guide on how to scan cover art here!

I bought a Crucial MX500 @ 500 gigs capacity for my 4 year old laptop. This is the first time I'm getting to experience an SSD, hands-on. And I couldn't believe how much of a difference it made. Feels better than when the laptop was new. 🙂

@Senzelian Thought the same when I bought the 1 TB PM9A1 for effectively 120€.

Not sure why it is so much cheaper as the 5 year warranty and packaging shouldn't cost 66% more.

Gotta turn the question around.
Why shouldn't be the 980 Pro so much more expensive if people buy it anyway? 😛

It's easier for retailers to sell the 980 Pro, simply because of marketing reasons.

Wasn't gonna post this at first, but this was a pretty good deal: Battle for Bikini Bottom and the Movie game from the Happy Squared Pack release of these two.

HcCNu.png

Now all I need are the regular copies of these... although if some shit happens soon enough, it might come sooner rather than later from @pinksnowbirdie...

To be completely fair, this wasn't really on my radar unless I saw what I wanted for a good price. And indeed, I couldn't say no to this for under $20.

PCI SCSI card.

This will do 2 things for me:

1. Tell me whether I have $400 in used electronics or $0 in used electronics

2. Let me install an OS while I wait for my IDe optical drive to arrive

Spoiler

Does anyone know what the 2 trapezoidal ports (one on bracket and one on top) are? I only recognize the 50-pin one because that's all I need.

oh wow, its been awhile since I saw or thought about a 29x0 HBA. The trapezoidal plugs, if they're the 68-pin kind, are for hard drives and stuff. The exact naming and details are lost somewhere in my brain but tl;dr its just a faster connection than the 50-pin ports provide.

Edit-I think the 68-pin kind is "UltraWide SCSI", but it can support a bunch of data rates depending on the controller and drives connected, from 40MB/s up to 320MB/s

Probably useless to me, then - unless I find something on Saturday.

Visiting a computer repair store with a bunch of parts that they don't know what to do with.

I'm currently playing Bikini Bottom Rehydrated despite having never watched a single episode, it's a very good platformer.

yeah if you're using it for an optical drive you'll only need the 50-pin "Wide SCSI" port. I've never personally seen a CDRom with the 68-pin Port. That card should work fine you just won't use every port.

Optical drive and hard drive (which I won't be using - just making sure it works so I can know if it's a $200 brick or a $0 brick).

Where'd you get that from? I've been meaning to pick up a driver kit with security bits included, but there's no way I'm paying the price to import the US ones (iFixit, etc).

Ah, I'm pretty sure I'm still blacklisted from PCCG 👀 Oh well I'm sure eBay/Amazon/Bunnings would have something.

Got this Asus 10gbit Switch and stupidly enough this incompatible 5gbit USB NIC.

I'll have to get another switch sometime later then....

Anyways, for 2021 my goal is to donate 10-20% of my "luxury" purchases to some kind of charity. For me luxury is anything that I didn't actually need, like this 10gbit hardware. So this is already about 15-30€ for charity right here, depending on the percentage I chose in the end.

Let's hope I'm not buying another watch this year lmao. (and I know I will grrr)

If you have any suggestions for charities feel free to message me 🙂
