RATE THE PC SPECS ABOVE YOU :)

thetechdude

I know it isn't built for the 290... Haven't had issues, idles at 43C with 40% fan speed and full load at 70C with a fan speed of 54%. Guess I'm one of the few lucky ones.

well yeah the cooler in and of itself isn't bad by any means, it still works, just not to its full potential :P kinda how like my card's vrm1 temp is naturally high when doing some heavy overclocking.

pretty impressive temps for the fan speed

Yeah, it just irritates me people are giving me shit for it.. Yeah, it's a cooler for the 780 and not at it's full potential with it might being able to run really hot, but as long as it stays at 70C or cooler at full load under 60% fan speed, I'm perfectly ok with it.

Also, Asus' fan curve would have it at 20% fan speed until it hit 70C then ramp up like crazy...

Only reason I have 4-way SLI not 3-WAY is because I bought 3-WAY then I was gifted another.

I find it hard to believe that you're able to install a 4-way GPU and still be able in install that PCIe x1 wifi card.

The mobo has 5 x16 slots and 1 x1 slot so I was able to squeeze it in - he doesn;t really use it he just wanted it in case he needs to use wifi.

yess R9 290-bro. but why the cx power supply with quality stuff like that O.o

not that it's bad, if it works for you then hell yeah for a first build. 8.5/10

I was actually going to buy a 970 but they kept running out of stock of the 970 I wanted the time I was building my rig cx

Hm, I got the CX because it was #1 seller on amazon lol. I don't really have a problem with it other than the little hiss noise it makes when I'm running graphically intensive games but I usually use my Headphone or my speaker will out loud the hiss so I'm fine with it.

I'd give Acerpwns' rig...8/10. The only downsides I see are the lack of hyperthreading (i5), and a relatively small amount of storage for 2014 (nearly 2015 now. Holy crap this year went fast). Otherwise, nice rig!

9/10

Base line:

1-5: not so good (wouldn't buy),

6-7: good (i would buy it),

8-9: very good,

10: Excelent.

CPU: 9/10 (Awesome multitasker, not that good gamer, overall an awesome cpu).

Motherboard: 10/10

RAM: 10/10

GPU: 10/10

PSU: 9/10

Peripherals: 10/10

Storage: 7/10 (i do love lots of TB for my content mostly anime and full Bray rips of my beloved series)

Sound: 5/10, please don't get me wrong, senheiser is a certified quality, but i prefer a receiver, towers, tweets and satellites, instead of a headset any day.

System in general: 8.75/10 A very good machine despite it does not meet my personal preferences.
