Why do we put our towers on the right but connectors on the left

So it seems to me that connectors for our headsets/mics always connect on the left ear cup, but our pcs are on the right side of our setup to show off the window. I find this odd myself because you get this cable crossing stuff i really don't like, with your headset cable draped across lap/ arms/ kb and mouse that most people will find annoying.

Is there any real reason that the average setup has the pc on the right, connectors left?

Alos can anyone give me tips on how to dral with the cable crossing?

Note that i am saying the average setup because my time looking at setups there is the pc on the floor to the right and then a headset draped across as generally headsets and what ever have their connectors on the left

Suck it up and deal with it.

Generally speaking headphones are designed as a mobile platform. Not designed to be used with a stationary PC. That said, most people tend to put their audio device in their left pocket. I my self put my phone in my left pocket. You may remember apple repositioned the audio jack on the iPhone because people put their phones into their pockets head first.

The PC is a stationary platform. We stick the case on our right because mother boards are designed a specific way and the case is designed to keep the board up right and vertical so the words are oriented correctly. They then stick a window on the case to show off your components.

Headphones and cases are two separate entities designed for different purposes.

my cable goes to the left ear, it is just random how they put it and my pc is on the right

My headset cables are routed through the holes in my desk so it doesn't bother me in the slightest.

what you can do (if your cable is long enough) plug it in the back of your  PC and have it run with your monitor.

I have the tower on my left, this way everyone sees my windowed side panel and I can acces both front and back of my tower easily

Make a small cabletunnel for the headset under the desk. Or as I do connect the usb soundcard to the monitor.

yeah i dont really have a usb on my monitor or a usb soundcard

may do this with my extension/adapter cable that the kraken pros come with

I have a headphone amp on the left of my desk, with headphones plugged into that. The amp of course runs behind my monitor, to the back of my PC on the right. I do agree though, I despise having my headphone cable cross in front of me at the desk.

Unfortunately I have to keep my computer on the left because it doesn't really work on the right since it ends up cluttery....it's a shame especially since I have a windowed 350d

if they are just on the desk then they will slide and fall arrounf, i have this problem with any cables they dont stay still unless i strap them down

same scenario here, but i may be able to rotate my setup 90 degrees to the left and have my pc on the right, only problem is my Ethernet cable is not long enough

yea, I don't have those issues, just that on the right it ends up in the middle of everything....I could technically just rotate it 180 m, but meh

i could but hoy much do they cost, prob like 2$ each and then i would need quite a few which could cost alot, id rather stick with my sticky tack and do it how i have meen

ok then get these from a hardware store, you can run about 5 usb cables through them, then twist at the top to lock, I stick them to the back of the desk, you can get 25 for a few bucks

still costs money, i would rather not have things that would make it harder to move cables if i needed, i kinda just tape them down now and that works fine

takes one second, you just twist them open in like half a second, easier than retaping things down

 

I am sorry things cost money You can probably get a 5pack for a dollar, I found some lying around in my dads tool box my house

I've seen them at London Drugs....$15 bucks for 3! Not sure if you have that store where you are though.
