Hello all,

So I'm currently in search for a realistic Pokeball, to use to propose. Which is easy enough to find for $100 bucks.

The issue, isn't the money. The issue is I can't find one that opens, that isn't super cheasy.

Could you guys help me find one that's decent?

I need:

A realistic Pokeball

Must open

Cost less than 300 dollars.

Please and thank you! :)

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

I'm useless, only wanted to nag. :)

My current plan: Put ring in ball, get on one knee, open ball, "I chose you".

I've had like four of these in my lifetime (Mmmm Childhood...)

But they're all plastic, and cheap. Was hoping to find a really nice one.

Get Barnacules to make you one. He needs the money now he is "poor people".

What do they know of England, who only England know?

"Well that's what I always said I wanted to be remembered for, for being honest. Nothing else is worth a damn"

There is a guy somewhere online who makes metal ones. other than this one:

Check ebay, find a metal worker and ask them to help, I'm sure they'd love to help.

My only suggestion would be to find somewhere with a 3D printer and make it yourself. The materials won't cost much and you can make it exactly to your liking, size, colour, the whole lot. Barnacules made a video about his 3D printed Pokéball. You might be able to find the schematic there.

I think it's a lovely idea, and I guess you're doing this because she's a fan of Pokémon?

Just make sure you don't have six Pokémon with you when you do it otherwise she'll get sent to the PC, and I don't think she'd be happy with that... :)

Speak to a CNC engineering place, I'm sure they would be able to make you two hollow semi spheres out of aluminium, then you could anodize them red and white.

Figuring out the hinge and clasp might be a little awkward but it would look awesome and probably sell for a lot more than it cost you.

If it has to look realistic, it has to look like it could suck a giant Pokemon into a tiny ball, a piece of plastic would never look that good.

I'm considering making one myself.

I'd like it to be metal, rather than a plastic ball, and everything I'm finding is a plastic ball.

I found a site that sells hallow metal spheres, and I can buy a 3 inch one (Pokeball sized), then a 2.5 inch one (for the middle part), and figure out a locking mechanism (Or even just use a stiff-ish hinge)

This made me laugh a lot.

I think I'm going to craft my own. Looks like the BOM cost will only be 60 or so dollars anyway.

Mmmm... I can use two metal spheres, and a vandal switch (for a PC) as the middle circle.

How about magnets? Just don't use industrial neodymium ones.

Any unknown button should be pressed even number of times.
