Wisdom teeth experiences

legend8887

I have to get up bright and early to go and get my wisdom teeth out. I took anxiety medicine which helped because I had to take it, lol. I'll be on so many drugs I won't feel anything. Anyways, have you ever gotten your wisdom teeth out? What was your experience?

2 upper ones with no surgery needed. I had my lower ones pop but they ain't causing me anything, think the braces did some of the work when I was young. Doc told me you need a surgery for them, and I was, yeah when they hurt me, I will visit you again.

And good luck tomorrow bud.

I really need to see a dentist about mine. I think my lower ones need to be pulled (constantly getting toothaches right at the back of my jaw), but my upper ones seem fine.

got mine, my new dentist wanted to take one out, but my old dentist now a surgeon that was supposed to do it(also the actual owner of my dentists practice) seems to have said no :P because they never call me in

I'm 20 and I don't see anything growing from the back. Maybe I have an updated version of teeth DNA.

I think I had the lower ones removed. It wasn't really that bad I was awake the car ride home and by awake I mean like I was wanting to drive and telling my mom how to drive and what to do but once home I crashed immediately. Didn't take many pain meds, had a lot left over so for me it seemed very casual.

I did all for in one go. You won't feel anything during the procedure at all, I didn't even notice that he had already pulled out the two top ones. The healing and pain afterwards suck tho.

I've got all of mine and either I'm used to whatever pain is there or they just don't cause me any irritation.

I had teeth removed so my lowers could come through, all I remember is stargate and ice cream.

Edit : I had some teeth removed in relation to my wisdom teeth I think it was the teeth next to them but I really can't remember, the days either side of it are a bit foggy.

All 4 of my wisdom teeth are grown in with nearly no crowding, so there was no need to remove mine.

Since you're going to be drugged all day tomorrow, I would just not bother going to sleep, it should make sobering up easier since you'll be sleeping through most of it.

I got hit in the side of my mouth when I was younger (15-ish) did some damage to my right rear molar that required surgery. Took almost three times a long to heal as expected, doctors and dentist don't know why. That tooth still causes me problems to this day. All four of my wisdom teeth are impacted, dreading having them taken out because of the problems I had last time. Been putting it off for years, but I know i'll have to get them done one day.

I think I'll be getting mine out this summer. I need to have them out before braces are put in because my top teeth are slanted forwards.

I had 2 wisdom teeth pulled out about 6 months ago, specifically my lower 2 were impacted and growing sideways.

I had local anesthesia only. If you are doing it awake, you feel nothing. Half your face will be numb from the local anesthesia, it wears off a few hours after surgery.

Afterwards you will be prescribed some gram positive antibiotics, usually some form of penicillin. Make sure you take these and not miss a dose, the last thing you need is to develop an infection.

Some tips: Don't eat before surgery, this can cause vomiting and lead to suffocation, that is exactly what happened to this idiot:

For the most it should be fairly easy, you should be pain free, but you may feel the vibration from the drill cutting through the teeth.

POST OP: The first 3-4 days will basically be all liquid foods such as smoothies, Yogurt, maybe mashed potatoes, drink water and Gatorade, it helps replenish lost salts and minerals.

Were the last few words of this sentence REALLY necessary?

Yes. It isn't bad. You basically feel the vibration in your ear canals. Honestly if you have ever worked with power tools, and have used an impact driver, you would know the feeling I am describing.  ;)
