There was experimental i9s never publicly released but I doubt they are starting now...

My friends where taking About processors a few days ago and one of them claimed the intel I9 processor gen is coming out january 2015 anybody heard rumors of this kind?

There is a lot of forums that have been talking about such processor since 2010 or 2011... It never came into existence... I believe it's just rumors.

I don't know why they would d a i9 and not an i11 as with and i11 they would keep on the train of prim numbers.

because if they did an i9 it would be consecutive odd numbers....

But being prime is a lot better than being odd, look at Optimus.

Anyway, no. 

Probably would be an Extreme-Extreme processor for Extreme workstations in Extreme environments doing Extreme work while having Extreme power efficiency and an Extreme ability to overclock along with an Extreme amount of cores and Extreme-Hyper-Threading.

Silvermont is coming late in 2015 don't know whether they'll rename the franchise for the new architecture, until then i7 would be their main hook for the name & they'll keep changing the Release Version number, probably i7-5xxx ,

 

this was also in rumor in 2010, the i9 series.

No, intel will not name any processors the i9. They are just improving the i7.

100% bullshit.  The i9 will never exist, as the i7 is Intel's "luxury" line.

I think there was a build on here with one of the early experimental i9's, but it was basically a renamed Xeon, if I remember correctly.
