No 24 pin connector on Mobo

Dell, HP, Lenovo are all doing these custom build/design systems, esp on the business side to "lock" you in.

 

Even the I/O layout is different, power supply sizes are different, whole nine yards. Pain in the arse and I deal with 'em every day...

 

I had one case, they offset the sata ports on the hot plug cage, so I HAD to buy a HP SSD to go in the PC - there was no way in heck any after market was going to fit... and HP wanted $800... returned PC. :)

Yup that'll work great. If you don't want to order from ebay though you can get some of the 99% stuff at a local grocery/convenience store most likely.

And any computer shop should carry thermal paste really. 

 

The stuff from the link though will work great however :)

It's a Haswell H81 board. Make sure you get a H87 because it is tons better than a H81.

Good choice. Hope it works out. Which Haswell cpu do you have? Also, I use Arctic Silver 5 in my rig ... it works excellently. (Just for note: you'll have to run it for 200 hours before the compound completely sets and optimizes, so it may be a little warmer for the first few days).

its an i7-4770s mate im not into overclocking my cpu so its not to bad, nice, I got that arctic silver stuff ordered.

That sir is where you are wrong. I was working on a *NEW* HP desktop. It had a standard 4 pin CPU power connector and a 6 pin for the motherboard only it was not a standard PCI-E 6 pin it was some proprietary crap. No 24 pin to be found.

i thought he posted the pic of mobo for which he wanted to know where the 24 pin was...and i said that bcoz he didnt took the pic of the part where the 24 pin usually is...

Yeah you can re-use the RAM, CPU, and check to make sure that you can reuse the CPU cooler because on some pre-built computers you can't  

it looks like that cpu is soldered on. Usually when they are smack dab in the middle, they are soldered on.

Although we're in 2021 I still think that back then in 2014 a quick google search would already have massively helped everyone here.

This board has two molex ports on the right (black 4 pin ones, usually connected to hard drives and disk drives). Simply find the molex cables from your psu and connect them to the ports.

I'm sure back in 2014 some psu's still had molex cords.

 

Oh well, I've just checked that picture once again and it seems that it also supports one cpu 4 pin cable and two pcie 8 pin cables. OP could've figured this out by himself.
