Not really, in that price range, Intel's solutions are simply better buys.

If you want a Room Heater which is horribly expensive, not so efficient while also being able to run games and assorted software at less than Intel efficiency in the same price band... go for it! :D

one of the most dumb and annoying comments ive ever saw. 200% troll factor.

No for gaming a FX9590 is not worth it.

only for editing and rendering, but still you could also grab a FX8350, and overclock it to the FX9590 standards.  you save alot cash then

But for gaming its not worth it, FX8320 FX8350 or i5-4690K or if you could afford a i7-4790K. would be better choices overall, depending on the games you play.

Neither of the 9000 chips are worth it. I have a friend who bought one. Now he has a space heater and regret. They have to be water cooled whether you like it or not. You need a pricey mother board whether you like it or not. They are quite impractical for daily use. And, they really don't perform all that well considering all that.

I have a hard time even recommending the 8350 in some cases if I'm honest. I'm no fanboy of either company. My last 3 builds have been AMD based with the one before this one having AMD graphics as well. Under the $150 mark I would recommend AMD all day. With the 8350 it depends on what deals you can find on combos. With the 9000 series AMD went full retard. Steer clear.

what about future titles though? watch dogs?

i've ran watch dogs on FX-8320 @ 4.8 GHZ and it was still running like crap...i poped in new mobo + i7-4770K and now run's like a charm...watch dogs does use more cores for the processing but AMD cores can't process fast enough to produce high and steady framerates...at times i was getting 40-45FPS on ultra settings with my GTX 780 in some area in watch dogs, same situation only CPU upgrade i now get 55-60FPS as ultimate low framerates...GPU load is also much better, much more consistent...

FX-8320 is worth it for people on budget it game extremely well when paired with an high-end graphics solution, anything above that in AMD is money down the drain...you can clock the 8320 upward 4.5-4.6GHZ and call it a day...or get a saweet i7 beast and clock it at 4.4ghz and totaly rip through every benchmarks and games and have much better results (for a MUCH higher cost of course :P)

BUT, i can count on the fingers of my left hands the games where the CPU upgrade from FX 8 core to core i7 made a noticeable difference with a GTX780...watch dogs being one of these games.

| CPU: Core i7-8700K @ 4.89ghz - 1.21v  Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX Z370-E GAMING  CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i V2 |

| Displays: Acer Predator XB270HU 1440p Gsync 144hz IPS Gaming monitor | Oculus Quest 3 VR
