So Notch has been making Horse Simulator 2014, spiritual successor to Goat Simulator, with all the money he got from Minecraft...

I can't think of a worthier cause.

The stone cannot know why the chisel cleaves it; the iron cannot know why the fire scorches it. When thy life is cleft and scorched, when death and despair leap at thee, beat not thy breast and curse thy evil fate, but thank the Builder for the trials that shape thee.

I've seen this on Reddit. Sending Dogecoin is more like sending a tip. So yeah, people are tipping him, not paying him.

What on earth is this...

A joke somewhat from a bored guy worth in excess of 100mUSD

He said this on twitter

"The [...] future [...] of gaming" - PC Gamer | "Not even a game" - Ed Key | "Awful. 9.2/10" - IGN pic.twitter.com/VleDjp6RYw

muh specs

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it.

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff.

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

Okay come here all of you ..

Notch had one good idea imo. The rest of his games and whatnot are very, very mediocre.

One good idea?   That guys has so much skill when it gets to creating a game from scratch , its Lovely to look at it , when he is streaming.

Also..  The Cliffhorse is just a joke in case your head just could not handle that fact.

You know i can make something like that in Unity in about a week and i wouldnt get a single cent for it? sigh Notch.

Thats why i stopped taking this world serious, wasted effort from low beings like me...

Please , grow up.  Of course it is using the basic unity's terrain generator and the model of horse with 3rd person controller/movement script.

Notch is actually real magician when it comes to coding, just check is streams, or twitter.  Its mesmerizing to see him code from scratch the ol' great Doom 2 like games.

Also, You seriously didn't get that its a joke ?

They say you need to send Doge Coin but you can just download the file? O.o Also it's a pretty pointless game...

IKR? It doesn't even slow down as it climbs the hill.

So all you do within the game is...horse around

That pun was 100% intended.

Because he propably used Unity engine (wihch he is playing around with few months already).  Which has built in terrain generator.

The models are quite easy to make when you have modelers, graphic designers e.t.c. near you in office.

Or you can just buy a horse from Unity's Asset Store https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/en/#!/content/503

So its no problem to do similar game in under 30 minutes.  And deploy it on any device since with unity you can build onto Linux, iOS, OSX, Android, Windows, Xbox., Vita, and idk what else.

Either this is a joke, or its a genuine game that Notch expects people to pay for.

Really? Really?  Its just a joke which may represent the (un)popular bussiness model where you pay for game which is in early access and then maybe you are ragin' when they quit with the game development.

Basically he is pointing out, that you should not buy everything which is in alpha access because it can be something crated in one hour only with vision to screw the buyers.

But noone gets the inner Idea of this.  Like seriously guys.  Just .. brain.. use it. please. ..At least today..
