I've been using strictly AOC monitors for 4 or 5 years now and I love them, I'll probably hold off on getting a 21:9 until this comes out.

I had one and it died :'(

they say in August

maybe i'll treat myself for my b-day this year :D

that backlight bleed on LG is making it not buy it and i'm stuck now with 7 years old AOC monitor :D

that still works w/o problems!

but the ratio is 16:10 and it's 1680x1050

that would be nice!

OCUK will have them in stock in September, source : http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18606223

That was also one of the reasons i waited with my 34UM95, but just recieved it today. As models with production date with juni and later, wont have the backlight bleed. But when i opened the box a saw MAY, so i got my fingers crossed.

if backlight bleed does show up te be bad, i will just return it and wait till they got the fixed versions in stock or buy the AOC if that will available by then :)

Looks indeed better than the LG. However, no Hardware LUT kills it. I'll wait for NEC to come along with a model with this panel.

Wonder if the fact it doesn't have a thunderbolt connector will bring the monitor to a more sensible price point?

well it s a 21:9 display, so in therms of area, that 32'' tv is bigger.

Because the battle of the standards is still going, we don't know if G-Sync is going mainstream or if AMD's VESA solution (way cheaper) works properly on a desktop monitor (which they are trying to make).

G-Sync will NEVER become a standard because it is proprietary and only works with Nvidia cards. If AMD's Freesync works with both AMD and Nvidia (which it appears it's going to do so since it's integrated into Display port 1.2b) it's not really a battle IMO.

Similar to the LG monitor linus reviewed recently here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KnrxNfxRK_4

But with what seems to be a higher quality stand and a MUCH more attractive price tag.  It is set to launch at £499 in September.  I couldn't find any information for pricing and availability for North America.

I'll be picking one up for sure!  What do you think?  Are you as absolutely excited as I am?

Sorry if this is a repost, i tried searching, however, the only things i found were the initial announcement for the monitor and the LG 21:9 monitor.

OK, so its cheaper, better stand, prettier back, more conectivity, usb hub, and more.

Bye bye LG 21:9
