How to get my website recognized? (kronofiles.com)

Oooh sorry, my bad! :) Well, you could contact @Slick or Linus, this comminity would be a perfect audience. But here they use those Google ads, they show an ad on your searches on Google but i don't know exactly how that works.

How would I directly contact one of them knowing that they are really well known people that would probably be hard to get hold of?

A service that is unique and solid will spread easily. The question I have is why should I trust you with my files?

It's against CoC to advertise and linking your website and putting the name in the title are likely against CoC too as it still basically advertising, sorry to be that guy.

I recently moved onto trying to advertise my website but am at a loss as to where to begin, anyone have any ideas on where I could start advertising my website (http://kronofiles.com)?

You could advertise your site with Google ads. http://www.google.com/intl/en-AU/ads/

Just PM them on the forum or message them on twitter

they do answers PMsand stuff, slick and linus both check this, you can search for them in the members area

You can also run a google ad campaign, they are quite cheap and work very well

EDIT: your post could possible be seen as an advert so just be careful to check the forum CoC, I am not sure just dont want people banned etc

Files on Kronofiles are triple encrypted and file names are not publicly visible nor are they visible on the server. Files will delete after a time that your specify and no backups are made so once they're gone, they're gone. for security reasons I cannot share any specifics about the type of encryption we use.

Perhaps and that is great, but it is hard to get people to trust uploading files to places they have never heart about. Perhaps you could have a page explaining how the technology works with some nice clean diagrams and explanation. It doesn't have to give away any secrets but just the basics of how it works might go a long way to improve users perception

To answer your original question, I'd try a google ad campaign.

But I'm still not sure I'd trust you guys. I'd get a SSL certificate asap. Without one, big red flags go up. I really like the idea behind it, but you're going up against some big competition.

I'm gonna research into SSL certificates later tonight or tomorrow.

I'd really make sure your website is up to scratch before launching any advertising campaigns. If it's not, here's what happens: I look at the ad, I think, "oh, that's intersting...," I see that it's still a work in progress, I never go back.

It'll just be wasted advertising. Just my two cents though.

Understandable, but do you think that this site has potential after getting the proper documentation?

I do. I really like the idea behind it and would love to see it come to fruition. It's something unique as far as I've seen, but it certainly needs some work.

I'd ditch the staff page entirely. You have a team of 3 young folks with no portfolio to speak of. If you guys have a portfolio, put it there. Your age and lack of experience worries me. Get your site on google: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/34397

It'd be nice if I could make an account and see what files I've uploaded and who I've shared with. You also probably don't need an instagram.

You shouldn't have a large paragraph on the landing page. You should put that information in the about section.

Anything I say here is my opinion only. You'll need to get a large amount of feedback to better judge what needs changes.

Thanks for the feedback, I think I'm going to take some of this into consideration when I edit the page. Also are you going to follow the development of the site?

I'll try to. I don't use many cloud services, but if I do need to share files, I'll try to use you guys. Also, do you guys compress your stuff? I did a test upload and it downloaded as a .zip

Yes, all files that are uploaded are compressed into a .zip file. Currently I'm working on a mobile version of the site that will not compress files.

That's something I really like, it allows for speedier downloads.

And it also solves the issue with cross browser compatibility of the HTML "download" attribute. :D
