I've missed out on so many great deals and I hate myself for it

thekingofmonks

I'm in Taiwan and I use the platform shopee to spot good tech stuff for cheap, but I often either miss them or just don't commit to buying them.

A while ago I had discussed with a seller and we settled for a price of about $140 for a crosshair hero xi, a 3600 and 32gb ram. I hesitated for too long between that and a more expensive x470 combo and didn't buy it, and now both are sold out and I'm left with prices that are at least 2x higher.

Recently, I found out that someone had listed 4 voodoo pci cards for only $22 in December, but I sure as hell don't remember seeing that listing anywhere even though I actively search for old pci cards.

There's a lot more you don't want to hear...

Anyway, how can I stop being a little btch when trying to buy stuff I obviously need or want? There's a clear problem with me that's causing me not to buy that kit.

Also, does anyone happen to know if there are scripts exclusively for automatically spotting the shopee deals I want? I often spend too much time scrolling through the app and their subcriber's emails aren't very informative since shopee is mainly centered on mass-produced cheap items, rather than the expensive second hand stuff I look for.

Being sceptical about your spendings is a blessing, not a curse. Being hesitant when buying used parts online is also a good thing, as it can save you from the occasional scam.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

You're probably right, although scams are barely a concern here since scammers are easy to track down on this tiny island.
