Help me find a GPU to replace a dead 3090

My GPU in my main PC, a 3090 died recently. Its out of warranty, and after contacting Gigabyte they don't seem to want to repair it. Let me know if you know of anyone that could fix it at a reasonable cost.

My display is a LG C2, so 4k 120 FPS. Other than gaming, I do a reasonable amount of video editng in resolve, but it seems that AMD + Nvidia handle this pretty well. I'd like a good amount of VRAM, I was using most of the 24GB on my 3090 at times.

The options I see are:

-Keep using the GTX 1080 until the 5xxx cards come out. I'd like a faster card, but can hold out if better is coming soon.

-Get a midrange Nvidia card like the 4070ti super.  Should be similar in perf to the 3090, but less vram.

-Get a High end Nvidia card like the 4090. More than I'd like to spend, but Vram would be nice, and likely would keep it a while.

-Go amd and get a 7900XTX. All the vram, and curious how well AMD would do here.

-Other?

Please help me make a make a decision.

get the same 3090 again but with a water block on it and used your air cooler from the broken card to replace the water block , usually used water block cards are cheaper

Cheap,  used water block cards probably need a decent amount of cleaning.

Just pointing it out, still a good idea.

Didn't think of that. Will have to hunt for one that has the same PCB as mine was non founders PCB version.

4090 is not worth its current price imo, and 5000  series may  come out before end of year

In the meantime if your old card doesn't cut it I'd get a "cheap" high VRAM card like the 6800XT, 6900GRE or 6900XT

I was working on the computer and it just stopped. Didn't work when I turned it back on. Tried a different GPU in the system and it worked fine, the GPU also didn't work in a different rig.

Thats a good idea. I'm kinda tempted to do this as I want my 4k120 when at the desktop.

Which PCB? IIRC, Master and Xtreme are compatible with each other. 3080 and 3090. Gaming, Eagle and Vision are all compatible with each other 3080 and 3090.

it's the old "shipping to and from me might be cost prohibitive, but if you want to dm we can go through some steps to see what's broken and see if you can fix it or if it actually needs sent off"

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.
