Are Oled Gaming Monitors really good for gaming?

Im a realestate VA and I game after work, so I average atleast 12 hours on my pc a day.

 

Im worried if my use case wont be good for oled gaming monitors since burn in will always be an issue for Oled.

They are going to be the best for the next 5-10 years before the next display tech comes out that beats them (Self-emmisive Panel tech) and even then OLED is going to have a major advantage with brightness (even though its pretty dim compared to mini LED)

 

if you play FPS or games with visuals, yeah OLED is the best monitor on the market, from 4k 240hz to 1440p 360hz for the FPS oriented games. There is simply nothing better.

 

Burn in is a huge concern, but if you have the budget for a 700-1400$ monitor, its not enough of one to matter. As long as you are smart with your usage and properly doing OLED maintenance care, they should last a few years.

I'm thinking of upgrading too.  I'm in a bright room and heard the glare can be pretty bad on OLEDs.  Anyone have any experience with this?

can't recommend oled for a bright room, usually the glossy panels are preferred over matte and used in a dim room

OLED is my minimum requirement for purchase new monitor now. It will only be replace if new tech better than OLED is appear in the market.

 

VA and mini LED in VA is totally out from me after using two highest quality Mini LED VA panel. No more for me.

 

If cost concern, IPS is the minimum requirement now.

I wouldn't buy Oled for the reason you do work on your computer and there is a real risk of burn in. I know it's the best in terms of picture quality, but I'd still find something else.

I guess IPS is the way to go. With the hours that I put into my pc I know that I will most likely end up having burn in after 3 months

I think too many too worried on burn in, how many actual case of burn in, except those torture test.

 

OLED is not new, all high end mobile phone is OLED and how many percentage of user having burn in? Very rare. I would not worried much on burn in.

Sure is. Really I can't wait to me away from LCD though. I'm waiting for matte 480Hz which I want. But yeah burn in, as long as you don't use static elements 8h or more daily as a use case should be fine.

Yeah. Not op. I personally have all workday the same window layout. So I'd expect "a seam" to form in the middle of my display. Because that is where the window border goes from nine to five every working day.

For gaming, OLED really is the best. Be it slower sightseeing games or faster FPS games they just look and perform better. And as a gaming monitor I wouldn't put too much weight on the risk of burn-in. But as soon as you do work on the same display it's more of an issue because you typically have the same static windows open for 8+ hours each day.

 

On the other hand more and more display manufacturers are offering 3 year warranties including burn-in coverage. They know what a monitor is used for so that's also a bit reassuring.

I have 4 oled displays. some laptops/cell/tv they are all bright enough for indoors during the day I don't know about taking a tv outside lol but yeah they are bright enough for indoors during daytime and fight glare similar to ips or qled. I don't have the best but it gets the job done I think my displays are around 600-750nits and the cell is 1500nits. And I'd like to Add I don't just have oleds I have a lg 1080 3d tv and a X85J by sony, its a upper mid range tv and I swear that my Oled is brighter(B2) it looks alot brighter but when I search rtings and compare the sony is brighter. the sony also has issues with reflections whereas the lg doesnt.
