Hello guys.

I'm Chris, I have no solid knowledge about computers specs at all. That's why I joined this forum. So it would be great if some helpful people could give me a push in the right direction. (Trust me, I do hardly know how to find my computer specs.)

yeah, just read the forum rules. there is a hidden rule on page 88: all forum participants and all their post belong to linus sebastian and the linus media group. by posting in the forum you agree to these rules.

it's time for some jolly cooperation!

Thank you all.

Thanks, I'm from Norway.

Think I found my computer specs:

attachicon.gifSPECS.png

Welcome!  And yes, those are your computer specifications.

For your help, I will explain these parts in basic as you may not understand:

CPU: CPU stands for Centeral Processing Unit, often refered to as a processor.  It does the thinking of the system and processes things.  Its a very HOT chip inside or your system so its important to keep it cool :)

GPU: This stands for Graphical Processing Unit, often refered to as a graphics card, it is what is used to power all the graphics and animations on your system.

RAM: This stands for Random Access Memory and is often refered to as memory, the speed is far beyond any other storage I know of and is used to store bits of data constantly as the computer needs it.

Motherboard:  This is the board of the system that keeps everything together and is kind of like the hub for everything.

PSU: PSU stands for power supply unit, its often refered to as the power supply, its a vital part in your system and plays an important role.  Think of it as a giant filter, filtering the electricity from the wall into safe electricity for the computer.  A low quality or faulty power supply can cause huge problems.

And of course, you couldn't know any of this without Linus:

WHAT IS A MOTHERBOARD:

WHAT IS A CPU:

WHAT IS RAM:

attachicon.gifsystem.png

Firstly, there is no need to put all that for the motherboard, all you need is Gigabyte 970A-d3p.  Gigabyte is the brand and the 970A-d3p is the model number.

the GPU is the thing under Video, the one with 2048 next to it.  Its a video card instead of 2048 put 2GB.

Under storage put the SSD and the HDD.

Your case is the box your computer is in, feel free to take a picture of it and I'll see if I or someone else here knows what it is :)

Your PSU is the power supply unit, if you pull off the side of your case there will be a box at the top or the very bottom at the back, thats your psu.  Feel free to take a photo of it and I'll see if I know what it is :)

I recommend watching tons of tech videos and letting the video absorb into your brain becoming permanent.  Techquickie and Linustechtips and NCIX all feature Linus who is the king of this forum and who this forum is about.  So watch those if you want to learn from Linus.

your GPu is the second line of the graphics info. your storage is what's written under storage. It's a prebuild system right? you don't have to fill in everything ultra precisly. for example it's enough to write 450gb kingston SSD instead of Kingston SH103S34.... and for the case and psu just write the names of the brand that stands on it. you find you psu inside your pc at the back. it's where your power cable runs in. if you don't feel comfortable opening your case to see it just let the psu textbox blank.

it's time for some jolly cooperation!
