Are we becoming addicted

Are we as a human race becoming to addicted with tech, That includes pc's consoles, phones tv anything that is tech. Basically do you think we are fine or we are way to addicted to it

Do you think this will destroy the human race could we become slaves to the very thing we created (not talking all jugment day, but that could happen) Also do you think all the advancements in tech is really helping are lives or destroying them in the long run, I.e everything is automated so we dont have to move and get fat

What do you guys think

Do you think this will destroy the human race, i mean what if the U.s is attacked with a nation wide E.M.P what would we do then we rely on technolagy a lot for everyday living and advanced warfare. Or could we become slaves to the very thing we created (not talking all jugment day, but that could happen)

I think it is pretty idiotic when people say we are totally better off with all the advancements society has made. Seriously the quality of life could be better with way less tech and other things we have now. In regards to addiction of course there are people addicted to tech like many other things out there.

Too many ****ing games!  Back log 4 life! :S

Rough definition of tech being any advancement like making a iron axe.... I'd say of course were addicted to tech.

EMP? We have shielded hardware for a reason.

Of course tech is helping us, look at all the medical breakthroughs and inventions. The god dam internet....

Anything is a double edged sword, it just depends on how you use it. Tech isn't good or bad, its how we use it.

We use tech. For some people this is all they do all the time. Do we really only use tech? No! I talk to my family, play games and do hard work as well.

Tech has actually brought better things to us. We can connect to people around the world. Fixed TONS of problems. It's made things faster, more productive, better, more precise, and easier. Tech hasn't been bad or will end up being bad, its done tremendously good things for us. Internet bringing us up to date news about anything. Don't forget about all the entertainment stuff such as movies, games, music and other things. Tech has kept things protected as well. I can't even name all the wonderful things tech has done.

TECHNOLOGY IS WONDERFUL!!!!

To me tech is similar to fossil fuels. Are we addicted to fossil fuels?. The use has created a massive boom in productivity, connectivity and our lifestyle. while tech is not a resource that can simply run out, there is still environmental problems limiting the advancements and limiting amounts of materials needed to make certain "future tech" items, there is only so much lithium and gold. Not computer tech but thanks to it the human race has found ways to annihilate vast amounts of territory in a few hours.

Thee will good that comes from "tech" and a bad, as someone else mentioned above its how we use it which determines whether tech does more bad or good.

Is it just me or is Grammar slowly becoming extinct on LTT?

N-no, no... No, what makes you say that? *Scratches neck harshly* I am not addicted. I only spend half my day* with my Pa- I mean, my PC.

*Half my day is around 12 hours.

Well, anything can be an addiction. So, perhaps we, as humans, are addicted to tech. Hell, just look at people who always have their phones out. Personally, boredom drives me to use my PC and stuff. Otherwise, if you isolate me from tech, I'll find something else to do like read, draw, or think and those could become addictions too. Hell, if I was bored enough, I think I could become addicted to smoking.

lol, tbh IDK.

It's not really different from other things people are passionate about, but then again there's a difference between blissfully enjoying what you do, and being reliant on it for satisfaction I suppose.

Mine's mostly boredom and a touch of an addiction to learning new info.

We are better off with the advancements. There's many health reasons why we're better off with advancing technology.

The only thing that's wrong with anything is the abuse. I can't tell you how many times I've seen this one guy that me and my friends usually hang out with and he's always on his Galaxy phone doing something while we're hanging out. Every time I look up he's scrolling through something. It bothers the piss out of me, lol. I wish we didn't have smart phones to be honest, but some people don't abuse them as much and know how to interact with people.

I for one would rather have tech than live in a mud hut stabbing at grub worms with a stick.

Here's a question that's related:

Online Porn, can you live without it?

The stone cannot know why the chisel cleaves it; the iron cannot know why the fire scorches it. When thy life is cleft and scorched, when death and despair leap at thee, beat not thy breast and curse thy evil fate, but thank the Builder for the trials that shape thee.

That's much too broad of a question. I'd say no though. We'll use whatever is the best tool for the job. As soon as something better comes along, we'll use that instead. It's just about using the best technology we have available to us at the time.

Yes, many people are addicted to facebook, telling every 5 minutes what and how are they doing something, including changing their socks, changing their GF/BF's and so on. Yet when i tell something about tech they say Shut the fuck up to me. I don't know is this comment needed, and is it even related to the topic, but many people are addicted to tech using it everyday, but no one really wants to know how it work. It is plain so just fucking stupid and makes me rage in a way that a human being can't describe, this could actually be worse, because how can you be a tech addict if you don't know anything about it? It's more about people being whores on FB than being addicts (doesn't apply for most of LTT forum users)....
