Modern computer cases are going to hell

Fast_N_Curious

I knew it was bad when RGB hit the market. then the 50lb glass paneling showed up. THEN andre the giant cases started appearing... ones that you need a forklift to move for you... But when they start resembling a rug doctor that's been decked out by what appears to be a 4 year old you have to wonder... have modern computer cases finally damned themselves to computer hell with absolutely no chance for redemption?

I mean at least its just not another box with gimmick marketing.

Since this is such a subjective topic, its highly personal and I get that, so please don't think I'm targeting or knocking you. Just a topic of interest.

The challenge is that there is only so much you can do with rectangular parts, unless you are Apple (the "iLamp style and the 2013 Mac Pro) and can make everything customized, and since the rectangle has been exploited explored and stretched to death, case makers are going in.....'interesting' directions.

still waiting for hinged tg doors to be common...

'modern cases'

this isnt just a render.. this was a product that was sold in 2003.

idiotic cases have always existed, it's just that these days more and more people are buying them, so more and more manufacturers make them.

First we had gamer chairs taking design cues from racing bucket seats.

Now we have PC cases with spoilers and hood scoops.

I keep my computer, an old full tower, from back in the mid 60's, on the floor where it belongs, without the gimmicky LED light crap so I don't care what it looks like. It runs, runs quietly, and that's all that is required from it.

Oh, I  had painted it grey to blend in better prior to moving in the 80's, but other than that, nothing.

I know, I had a friend who wanted me to build them a PC in that case. No real instructions, so a monumental PITA to build. They still have that damn thing too.

I WANT ONE but can't afford a boat at the moment. They make me very jealous, so sometimes I lash out.

It's too old.  No way is it a bluetooth anchor.

Despite popular belief to the contrary, I think it is actually a Bluetooth anchor. You just don't have the right drivers installed. Or your headphones are already paired with it. Maybe try power cycling the PC?

Me... I just wish there are more non TG models.
Or every cases released has a non TG version.

There is approximately 99% chance I edited my post

And here I thought we were talking about boat anchors painted blue.  That way the fish don't see them before they hit them in the head on the way to the bottom of  the river or lake.  Okay guys, fun time over.  Good night.
