keep it up man.  it's all good 🙂

Well next step is move out to an apart ment and copy this layout to there.  Been trying to find a layout that works in my room that I could do a 1:1 move to a studio apartment.  Like a pre demo.  Add some space where my door is for like kitchen area / front door, add 5 - 8 feet per wall, I'd have about what I've seen available for small apartment spaces locally.  Seems like a deal to me lol.  Don't need help moving then haha.

Looks a mess to you, but I've gone out and done life stuff and come back.  You're gunna accumulate stuff.

And TBH, figuring out life.

If you were interested in cooking, computer logic, music studies, anthropology, theology, the history of man, the development of concept, your house would be messy too.  Unfortunately, because of outside situations, I have to treat a room like an apartment.  But!  Its letting me plan ahead for when I move.

Make the most of it, I say.

Lol!  No, it's a variation on Babayega from Russian lore.  Dedayog is my (admittedly American) spelling of the male naming convention applied.

I’ve been working on a setup like this since 2016 or so—a personal IMAX-like setup for maximum media immersion and workstation space—finally reaching the point where it can become what I imagined way back then. Been injured and stuck home awaiting surgery for a couple months so I’ve been making small improvements where I can again.

Improvements over the pandemic have been few and far between; had the parts to make a killer AMD rig but couldn’t get a GPU for a year so it was useless and with poor timing I sold those parts off right before the GPU market was flooded again. Been using an Xbox Series X and Apple TV in leu of a PC and have an old Surface Pro docked in case there’s something I need to do that requires the most basic computer. Hope to build the PC this year and actually use the setup to its full potential however.

Recently got some stiffening beams painted up black to match and help strengthen the desktop because finally, there’s a curved 55” gaming monitor with the Odyssey Ark but it’s also ~50lbs heavier than the 55” TV I’m currently using so the desk will need a little assistance at its large 84” span. Won’t be ready to install them before surgery so that’ll have to happen after I’ve recovered in a month or two, where I’ll be flipping the desk over to install the beams but also mount the integrated speaker amp, slot loading external disc drive, slim front-facing USB hub, and a few other things underneath the front edge of the desk, as well as cable manage. So at the moment it’s quite a mess but once complete it’ll be very well integrated.

Desaturated all of the color except for red because it looked cool and the entire shtick is black/white/silver/red anyway.

Show the colours bro it's not black and white lol, sick system tho 🙏

Thanks, this was it circa 2016-2017:

Essentially figured out I wanted a curved 55” panel way back then, started with the KS8500 which was pretty great. Then had the MU8500 after the KS developed a cluster of dead pixels. The MU was priced and named like it was in the same category but seemed a step down in every way.

B4A30396-54B7-4609-B2E7-7551271BF7E5.thumb.jpeg.0fe5027ed591bb5ddd665803dfa01f35.jpeg

Upgraded to the Q7C which is the last premium curved TV Samsung made, and at the beginning of the pandemic I also got the standing desk.

DF176DEE-3E8A-4513-9D48-8002D5588AC9.thumb.jpeg.5ce3cf5cba60c1c3985deb95121ad6a0.jpeg

Got the QN90 because they stopped doing curved TVs right when they started offering HDMI 2.1 and I wanted the better backlight and refresh rate more than the curve, works great with the Series X.

9044437E-0009-4638-8A07-CBAB4A626B5E.thumb.jpeg.a92943b7056a7086e2db105181df93fa.jpeg

And since then I’ve gotten better peripherals, stands for the speakers, etc. Planning to upgrade to the Odyssey Ark whenever they, from what I’ve read, get around to fixing the broken HDR from the latest firmware. And also when the desktop is strengthened to handle the extra weight.

I also want to get some “wide hooks” made to hang the PC case from the underside of the desk directly by its handles. Figure two mounting points is better than the single mounting point usually found in a standard under desk case clamp and it’ll just look like it’s floating.
