You don't argue with your boss.

It's good if your boss is cool with it but there can never be fair argument between two individual if one is of higher rank than the other. That's why you don't argue with your boss, coach, teacher etc.

Do you mean like... What comes to mind first?

Uh... Deus Ex Invisible War, cause I remember this was my first game to the Deus Ex series. Dad got it for me when it came out and I always thought it was pronounced Deuce Ex until like a year after.

And on Thief... I think the original series. Not that I played them. But they were always flooded in my gaming magazines when I only had a PlayStation. The grey one that came with Vigilante 8 demo discs.

what if I've won a lot of arguments with each of those 3 you just listed and got rep for not just being a sheep?

Constructive arguments where both opinions are correct (from different perspectives) are ok. Something i have learnt, you get nowhere by not showing your skills

maybe they are voting that because of deus ex and not thief?

before i knew they where remakes i would vote that but now i vote remake for deus ex and original for thief, if they where different options

this is one of the greatest thing that has happened to me recently, and it happened on this forum, those involved have my eternal gratitude http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/198850-update-alex-got-his-moto-g2-lets-get-a-moto-g-for-alexgoeshigh-unofficial/ :')

Yeah, I argue with my teachers all the time. But it is rarely the smart thing to do. Sometimes it ends up good, sometimes it ends up bad. I'm speaking from experience.

The problem is it is impossible to have a fair argument when you are not in the same social position as the person you are arguing.  Whether or not you are right matters not. You are basically at the mercy of your superior. If he deems you right and praises you for it you think that you were praised for being right but that is not true. Your superior could have easily chose not to praise you and instead punish you. That's life.

this and also the fact that my superior is only my superior as long as I deem him my superior, he is my superior in a certain area however not my superior in life, if he ticks me off I can easily leave and get another job, such is the life of someone like me, I can work hard  but if not treated fair I will not stand for it and my superior knows that. (I should state that my only superior is my boss though since I am already IT manager of the company)

it makes me sad when I see so many people had not heard of these games until the reboot of them. but I guess I cant get mad since it seems these games are older then 2/3s the LTT community.

I think its more about witch game gave them more of an impact rather then knowladge of there existance. Thats how i understand the question, iv known about both series but the latest Deus ex is more memoriable for me, as for thief...eeh old one although i barley played it.

That's an optimistic view at best delusional at worst. You cannot always leave, you don't always have another option.

Your superior is your superior, whether not you see him as such is up to you(and denial of reality will only be bad for you) but as long as he has the power to affect your life he is your superior.

actually, I have other jobs that want me to work for them and I also have the ability to work for myself I just don't want the responsibility (and my job is awesome, going into 3D printers and 3D printing now). My greatest weakness is also my greatest strength, speaking your mind and being true to yourself makes certain people dislike you, true but others respect you. You should be able to see this virtue in a lot of youtubers as well.

This was worded really badly

I'll always think of the original Deus Ex, still in my top 10, possibly top 5 games currently.

I really enjoyed the original Thief series, didn't bother playing the latest one but it was the first that popped into my mind.
