New graphics card to get?

I'm looking for a graphics card to get hopefully soon. I'm 14 so I don't have a ton of money but I was wondering what I could get for around 600 USD. I was wondering if I should get something like a GTX 1080 Ti or a RTX 3070. But I also was wondering if it's a good idea to wait and preorder a 40 series card. Currently I am running 2 EVGA SSC 970's in SLI which works ok, but it could be better.

What is the rest of your system; the CPU, RAM, MBO and PSU?

 

Actually, a new Radeon RX 6700XT fits exactly in your price range.

If you must get an Nvidia card, looking locally to see if a 3060 ti is available at a reasonable price is the best move.

If you could provide us with more information about your current hardware and what resolution you play at, that would help out allot.
I would go 3070/6700xt/3060ti in that order, if you can find those in your budget of course.

I prefer to go with Nvidia for things such as dlss and ray tracing rather than AMD. I have a Intel Core i7-8700, 32 gbs of Corsair Vengeance at 3000mhz, 750w Evga PSU 80+ Gold. I forget which motherboard I have but I can check when I get home from school.

I have an Intel Core i7-8700 with a Corsair Aio, 32gbs of ram at 3000mhz, 850w 80+ gold psu and I usually play at 1080p. I will probably get a better cpu eventually but I got the 8700 from inside an older dell that I got for free.

Ok, then you have to go with the much weaker RTX 3060 to fit the price.

You wouldn't have to go all the way down to a 3060. The 3060Ti has been available for under $600 fairly regularly. There's an MSI Ventus 3060 Ti available from Newegg for $560 at the moment, for example.

 

EDIT: Actually, the Ventus 3070 is available right now for $610, although I doubt that's going to last.

A GTX 1080 Ti supports neither DLSS nor Ray Tracing. So you should go with a newer card like the ones suggested, RTX 3060, RTX 3060 Ti, or RTX 3070 depending on your budget.
