Slow Internet connections may cause duplicate posts

TheCoder2019

Browser, version and OS:

Chrome, Android 9

Steps to reproduce/what were you doing before it happened:

I was gonna throw a tantrum about running out of Nutella

I submitted a Status Update, and kept refreshing. That’s how my duplicate post was created causing more tantrums about running out of Nutella than needed.

What happened?

Duplicate Status Update

What did you expect to happen?

For the Status Update to be posted once even on refresh

Link to a page where it happened, if applicable:

Screenshots of the issue, if applicable:

Any other relevant details:

Your Internet has to be REALLY SHITTY for it to happen

If it's a cloudflare error, what was the ray ID from the bottom of the error page?

This is probably nothing we can help with. There's cooldown already in place, but its not that long it would prevent all doubles. As there are legimate reasons (in tabbed browsing) to post multiple times withing 1 minute for example.

Overall, this as a accident and dualposting overall is very minor issue. With SUs, you can remove/hide them yourself. On other posts, well, moderation is here for a reason.

@LogicalDrm let me elaborate

I was able to press the submit button, but my Internet was bad, I refreshed the page, and in the editor, for some reason it kept saying “Saving” and the lahe was fully loaded too. I do think that this is more of a client-side issue however.
