Which usb port is the fastest on my motherboard?

Hello i have this motherboard

https://rog.asus.com/motherboards/rog-maximus/rog-maximus-ix-hero-model/spec

Which usb port is the fastest on my motherboard?

Which is connected directly to the CPU if that's even a thing?

I have audio dropouts with RME ufx+ and i'm trying to get the best connexion.

Please dont tell me to increase the buffersize, i know all that jazz i record since 15 years, i know how this works, but i have random behavior no mattter the sample size i choose in the RME.

Also what's the best usb cable that is a bit more than 1.8meter? I'm using the included 1.8meter right now but i will need another one that's about 1-2 feet longer if that exists. type A to type B usb3.

Thanks

I think they're all provided by the chipset ... there's no particular usb port better than others

Maximum length recommended for usb 3 is 3 meters (9ft)  ... the cable you have is probably a bit crap, get something better ... but the ones with usb type B are probably shit, because they're aimed at printers so not really paying that much attention to cable quality.

For more than 3 meters, you can go with active cables, for example this $100 cable does 10 meters (30ft) - (has a chip that amplifies and equalizes the signals through the cable) https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-Active-USB-USB-B-Cable/dp/B0109IWCT4/

i really doubt RME includes a crap usb3 cable with a high end audio interface...

I don't need more than 3 meters, just a bit more than 1.8meter

And yes there is better usb ports than others, RME suggest intelchipsets and 2-3 other ones, asmedia chipset doesnt work well with RME.

The red colored usb is the fastest on that board. It's a USB gen 3.1

PSU Tier List   AMD Motherboard Tier List   SSD Tier List

is it managed by the intel chipset?

I'm using this 3.1 now, doesnt help the dropouts issue... it's probably more a driver issue... This is so annoying...

What is the normal latency for the nvidia driver? Mine seems very high. (latency mon software)

According to the user manual, the USB gen 3.1 is managed by the ASMedia Controller.

The Intel Z270 chipset handles the USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports.

The red ones are USB 3.1 Gen 2 (10 gbps) provided by the AsMedia controller.

They used AsMedia controller because the chipset's usb controller can't do 10 gbps.

It's been said that Intel USB controllers are better at throughput than AsMedia or other controllers (Etron , Via etc) BUT that statement was at the time when USB 3.0 5 gbps  was the new thing and USB 3.1 Gen 2 (10 gbps) or USB 3.1 Gen 2 2x2 (20 gbps) were not even invented yet.

It's quite possible the AsMedia controller that does the 10gbps ports is made with a more modern design inside and when working at the slower 5 gbps, it may be just as good  as the Intel USB controller inside the Z270 chipset.

The chipset (Z270) does all the other USB ports, because it has no built in USB 3.1 Gen 2 capability :

Thanks, you know what's a good normal nvidia nvlddmkm.sys execution time ?

Mine at 0.7ms seems high
