Yo @Vitalius @Jaybird you guys have weapons? I'm being hunted apparently, I may need assistance.

Would one of these be of any use?

@Ruostunut kokis

Ok, so regarding the symlinking & cp thing.

cp works weird. If you do this command:

cp -r /home/ruost

It will copy the entire ruost directory and move it all at once. It will copy hidden (.) directories such as .wine.

If you do this however:

cp -r /home/ruost/

It will not copy hidden directories such as .wine.

If you do the first or second one, it will copy the entire ruost directory (besides whether it will get hidden files or not ofc) to wherever your destination is.

If you do this though:

cp -r /home/ruost/*

It will copy everything within ruost, but not ruost itself. So if you do the first or second one like so:

cp -r /home/ruost /root

You'll end up with /root/ruost. But if you do the 3rd one, it will empty ruost into root. It's like copying the contents of a folder (the third method) and pasting them into root, as opposed to just copying the folder itself (the first two methods).

Important intricacies and whatnot.

These (symlinking with cp your home folder) can be dangerous things. If you lose your contents of your home folder, you won't be able to do a lot as your user and will have to resort to using Root.

My process for mounting an HDD (which is another option you have that does effectively the same thing) was the following:

tremor@[member=OblIvioN] su -l -log in as root in terminal-

root@OblIvioN:# cp -r --preserve=all /home/tremor /root -copy entirety of tremor to root-

root@OblIvioN:# mount /dev/sdd1 /home/tremor -mounted extra drive to tremor folder-

root@OblIvioN:# cp -r --preserve=all /root/tremor/* /home/tremor/* -copied contents of root-tremor to new-home-tremor-

root@OblIvioN:# logout -logout of root account in terminal-

tremor@OblIvioN:$ sudo nano /etc/fstab

^-added /dev/sdd1 to have it mount to /home/tremor on boot-^

To lay out what I did above:

*I logged in as root, as I needed access to something that wasn't within my home folder and wasn't volatile (like /tmp).

*Copied my home folder from the USB drive to root's folder (still on the USB drive.

*Mounted my drive to /home/tremor.

*Copied the contents of my home folder from root's folder (on the USB) to my new home folder (on the hard drive).

*Logged out of Root as I was done using his privileges.

*Edited /etc/fstab to automatically mount my hard drive to /home/tremor upon boot so I don't have to manually do that every time.

My files are still safe on my USB, but currently inaccessible. All I'd have to do to get to them is unmount the hdd (umount /dev/sdd).

Ahh executive charger finally chimes in. Your the unmoving library, the creator and manager of spreadsheets. Speaking of which are we up to date? We need to encourage more recommendations on the recommendations thread, I feel like were running low on series to choose from.

Lol

So one of the important characters in nana fucked up big time, enough for everyone that's watching hate him.

He tries to hide from 2 side characters on a bar, gets caught and says "nono, i'm out of the series now" and a side character says "huh, now that all the viewers hate you you want out? no way" That was funny, was not expecting that.

Watching Japanese rhythm gamers play is so entertaining sheerly because of how good they are. I bring this up because I just came across a new (to me) rhythm game, and this guy was well, just watch...

I thought the video was sped up at first. It's not.

There are a lot of gamers who are extremely good at rhythm games and aren't japanese.

I'm aware of this. Also, people who hardcore play osu are freakishly good at the game. It's as if they have some sort of heavenly gift for playing that game, haha.

As a side note, that video is basically me playing Tetris. No lie. I'm in the millions club.
