Is my SATA cable causing my SSD to perform poorly?

I just did some benchmark of my Samsung 860 EVO SSD and found out that my random write are much slower compare to other 860 EVO benchmark I've seen. Is it because of my SATA cable? It was a struggle installing SATA cable on my motherboard because of how the case I have is designed. Is it slow because I broke something on the motherboard while installing the SATA cable in the process? Can something on the motherboard be easily broken without even noticing like bent pins or something? Also can data even transfer with broken or bent pins on a motherboard? The SATA cable I have came with the case. My case is NZXT H500.

In this case no, it is most likely your CPU or the AHCI (Sata controller). Question here is, do you really notice any performance issues from your ssd? I switched from a 840 Evo to PM981A (Samsung 970 evo for oems) and did not notice a performance uplift despite the new ssd being orders of magnitude faster. Dont lose any sleep over it.

There's nothing wrong with your performance. It's actually very good. There will be some variation between all drives, and between tests. You also aren't comparing equal drives. Even if they're both called 860 Evo, the different size drives are all different models.

You're looking at the 4K?  97.94 vs 122?

 

While all your others are performing above?

 

I'm kind of speechless.  No, your cable isn't causing any slowdown.  It's digital, it doesn't work that way if you bent a or broke a cable.

There's nothing to worry about here. Those speeds are to be expected with SATAIII and is not performing worse than other drives.

Uh okay I will just post my results for comparison as my Samsung is about to explode or something looking at the numbers. C/ is 850 EVO. G/ is PNY NVME.
