Well, as the video shows, it's not CS:GO that's hogging the resources, it's FSRecorder.exe. Never heard of that application but it seems to be a screen recording software. Is that software also running while you're not recording anything? And more importantly, is it also hogging resources if it's not recording? Does it have a highlights feature that basically records uninterrupted at all times and lets you keep the last couple of minutes when you hit a button combo? Try closing the FSRecorder app completely and launch CS:GO again to see if the behavior persists.

FSRecorder.exe is my screen recording program.

CS load cpu w/t running FSRecorder.

OK, look at this screenshots i made it before starting game and when i quit:

#1 & #2 - regular load

#3 & #4 - when i started CS

Honestly, this doesn't seem like a CS:GO problem and more an issue with the WMI Provider Host. To find out what's causing that, you'll have to take a look at the event viewer, right click on the start menu -> event viewer. On the view menu, enable "Show Analytic and Debug Logs".

Β

In the tree structure on the left head to Applications and Service Logs -> Microsoft -> Windows -> WMI Activity -> Operational.Β

Look for any errors there and note the ClientProcessId number.

Should look something like this:

Image

Β

Once you have that, head back to Task Manager in the process view. Right click the column headers and enable the PID column. Find the application with the same number you found in the ClientProcessId, that should be the one causing the spikes in the WMI Provider Host. Alternatively, you can find it in the service tab, the PID column should be visible by default.Β Maybe there's something there that could lead to a solution.

After spending almost 4 hours

- i Checked bunch ofΒ  "Error" events related to WMI by PID - > i tried : delete reinstall, update and repair few drivers and programs

*Thank you for adviceΒ AVOCADO.

CPU started act weird: immediately after Reboot and passing POST - 100% load again.

I deleted CS:GO, clean Register, run SFC but CPU still runs under 100%.

Β

Nothing HELPS.

Β

AND I am finally f_up my rig yes, BSOD πŸ™„

Β

I did system "Restore" to last saved Restore point before cs:go installation AND now it runs NORMAL again.

NO MORE CS on my pc ever !!!

Β

*I am sure : this is ONLY CS optimization problem!

Because any Programs and ALL GAMES except CS are runningΒ  with NO PROBLEM.

You can't just say "I checked a bunch of errors and deleted/reinstalled/updated a few drivers and programs". What programs were these, were they indeed using a lot of CPU? If deleting them didn't fix it, then they likely weren't the problem and you have to dig further, checking more programs.

While it might be the combination with CS:GO, that sound weird to me as you showed CS:GO only using 30% maybe and the rest all being gobbled up by WMI Provider Host and FSRecorder. What are you using FSRecorder for? All I can find is that it is a FlightSim Recorder for Flight Simulator 2004, which makes no sense in the context of CS:GO.

c-state is OFF for stability, after overclocking i9-9900K.

Do not get off of the main question - SC:GO load my cpu 100% all the time. WHY?

Remove any overclock you have applied. That's always step 1 when you encounter weird behaviour, so go back to stock settings first to make sure you don't have an unstable overclock. If you are reaching 105 C than your overclock is not safe in the first place regardless if it's causing issues or not.

I would also install msi command center instantly. Manufacturer bloatware is quite often the root cause of instability.

It would give everyone trouble if it was the game. Its the screen recording software, or some other software masquerading as one.

I feel like you have other issues going on. Reset your BIOS settings to default. At 105C, you should be thermal throttling, but your CPU has only slowed down to 4.77.

CSGO isn't the sole reason for your high CPU usage. What did you find when you were looking at event viewer for WMI provider host? You gave very vague responses and haven't elaborated on them. What is TriggerModeMonitor. CSGO is only 1/3 the problem with high CPU usage. As other things get figured out and fixed, CSGO will become more and more of a problem until you get to where the frame limit stops it from taking up more CPU usage.Β

@JeppesEven when they aren't using their screen recorder, they have a ton of other tasks using up almost 70% of their CPU usage. They have a bunch of other things they need to fix.Β

@_zZz_Have you tried a good, deep anti virus scan? If you close out Command Center, does Csgo take up more than the 31% CPU usage, or does a different task take up the extra 3%?

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.Β

- why cpu stillΒ  under 100% after deleting cs:go?

@JeppesEven when they aren't using their screen recorder, they have a ton of other tasks using up almost 70% of their CPU usage. They have a bunch of other things they need to fix.Β

@_zZz_Have you tried a good, deep anti virus scan? If you close out Command Center, does Csgo take up more than the 31% CPU usage, or does a different task take up the extra 3%?

WMI reported ERORR with nVidia container and ESET Internet Security.

I did clean driver installationfor my 1080ti. doesn't help.

Antivirus didn't let me fix main process.

Β

BUT after restore system before CS:GO installation i don't have this problems anymore, look at the screen:

This is NORMAL for my rig usage:

AGAIN: EVERYTHING WORKS FINE EXCEPT CS! CS started call all problems, after restore everything works fine, hello again πŸ˜‰ i will not search some problems when i don't have any problems! but if i install cs i am f-up again πŸ€ͺ

but you do have problems, that's why you came to ask here. Please be clearer in your responses, you are incredibly vague in your replies and you don't respond to half the things that are asked. If it's truly CS:GO, then uninstalling it should be enough. Furthermore, you have demonstrated yourself that it doesn't seem to be CS:GO, as in task manager you have shown us its usage was around 15-35%.

Β

Furthermore you are reaching 105 C. That should NOT be happening and indicates you have either inadequate coolingΒ  or are pushing your OC too far for your cooling solution. Intel's Ark page for the 9900k lists 100 C as the maximum allowed temperature on the die. You are operating at unhealthily high temperatures, so please be smart and 1) remove your overclock that you mentioned and 2) lower that temperature protection limit to default again.

Β

Get MSI Afterburner or something and use the OSD to monitor in-game CPU usage. That should give some additional insight as usage may drop when you switch out of the game to look at task manager.

Β

Lastly I agree with @IkeaGnome. Do a good virus scan and get rid of all the MSI Gaming related stuff.

Seems to be related to the MSI Gaming app and apparently uses quite some resources:

But if it's acting weird even after deleting CSGO, it wasn't CSGO right? What are the chances that your system rollback also deleted some other software? Pretty high. I doubt you installed CSGO and then didn't install a single thing between then and when you did the rollback.Β

Here's my guess. Check and see if MSI command center has an update. I'm guessing one of your many utilities had an update around the same time that broke something.Β

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.Β

For someone who was worried about "roasting" his CPU he's remarkably, almost resolutely uninterested in acknowledging the temperature issue.Β

Yes, i set Temp 105 in BIOS, ok wil change to 100. But i never had 100% cpu load before csgo got installed.

i don't use MSI Afterburner at all, this is not related to gpu issue. My gpu is fine, only CPU.

i keep just a few programs from MSI. Command center, Update, Led control
