What's with websites not being able able to response? Please help!

Hi, I'm from Myanmar and every time I find an interesting website, chrome would take ten seconds and slap me with the ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT error. Now I know for a fact that Myanmar has banned a handful of websites, noticeably Facebook & Twitter. But this error seems to be affecting random websites. Examples include  timebucks.com, pokemonshowdown.com ...etc. Some websites do load but I won't be able to access it. All these problems are fixed if I use a vpn but it's inconvenient most of the time. Is there any way to solve this problem or is this just a regional thing? Please respond.

That is rather Strange. Does your Government have something against Firefox?
