Best way to print good looking posters?

I'm kinda wanting to print video game posters and I'm wondering is that something that's hard to do if it's big size or is there places that could print it for me?

Reminder⚠️

I'm just speaking from experience so what I say may not work 100%

Just go to a large format printing service (for vinyl banner).

Bring your design / poster in pdf, select the material and finishing.

Lots of print shops have A3  or bigger printers / plotters and can use photo paper to give your poster a nice shiny / photo look ... it would be expensive but good quality.

Just search around your area...

You could also try to upload your posters on displate and then order from them your design ... they're metal posters : https://displate.com/

Look for a printshop. Many of them can print out poster paper, in various sizes
Keep in mind most of them would not print out copyrighted work, such as artwork from games.

I've grabbed random high-resolution images from the Internet and had them printed whenever one of the many canvas-printing or oversize mousepad printers offer a sale or special.  Unless you're willing to spend a bunch of money on a high-end printer yourself that can print large (physica) images, you'll want to contract that out to some form of a print shop, yes.

Well, In My experience with PRINTING posters (Little), It's best to find a place that prints out images on a bigger sheet of paper then have it laminated. Most of my posters are hand-drawn, Minus a dragon and a couple of Pride Flags. If you're not into Drawing, Then I suggest what I said first. It won't be too cheap, depending on the size, But If it's a higher res Image, Or, Heck, A Game Screenshot, then It's worth it.

Most large format printing companies use RIP software so all images printed are converted to 4 color(CMYK).

Some colors may shift in the conversion like blues and reds so it is best to do the conversion yourself and check the colors for shifting in a paint program since it may not show up on your monitor.

One of my side jobs was preparing images for large format printing. Color shifts and people sending in tiny images were the biggest issues I dealt with.

Let's hope I find one that would be able to print game artwork because yeah that's the point of a poster

Google "large format printing" in your area. These guys use printer like this:

Canon Large Format Printer at Rs 250000/piece | Canon Large Format Printers | ID: 3815782148

If you see billboard ads or just simply a standing banner, there must be a place nearby that made it.

Other printing service might offer a simpler single poster printing from A3 to A1 size.

I used Pantone swatches in Photoshop since they represent the same color in a 3 or 4 color prosses.

Doesn't help you, but my local library have a large format printer. Do not know how good it is tho.
