What's the best graphics card for my PC?

_Meme_
Go to solution Solved by WhitetailAni,

The 3090. No GPU bottleneck guaranteed.

Joking aside, a 1060 6GB would suit you fine.

Or a Titan Black (macOS Mojave+ support!).

Up to you.

I'd get the 1060 6GB.

My PC is the HP Z220 Workstation CMT (Refurb from 2012, lol). It has stock everything except the RAM, which is Corsair CMY32GX3M4A1600C9 Vengeance Pro 32GB (4x8GB) DDR3 1600 MHz (PC3 12800) Desktop 1.5V, Black. It currently uses Intel HD 4000 graphics. It uses the Intel Core I7-3770 CPU and runs on average at about 3.6 GHz. For more info, there's a datasheet and a manual provided by HP. I'm into gaming, mostly, so I need a good card. Any suggestions? (Trying to avoid things with huge performance bottlenecks.)

Which games and what resolution and FPS are you planning to play at?

My suggestion would be a 1070 or 1060 6gb not knowing the above details.

I will recommend an NHu12s (or an NHd15 (maybe)) for your PC build. Quote or @ me @Prodigy_Smit for me to see your replies.

Mostly Minecraft, 2 (hoping for 3 eventually) monitors at 1280*1024 with 75hz refresh. Wouldn't mind higher framerate. Garry's Mod or almost anything on steam by Valve, too.

In that case a 1060 6gb or a 1050ti would be more than adequate.

With a few exceptions (such as really old cards not working with new hardware, and vice versa), basically any PCIe video card will work in a PCIe slot.

Ah.

I'm 90% sure it'll work fine. I've never met a game my GTX 650 Ti BOOSTs can't play (2013 cards), and I don't think there are any known problems with a 3770 running games.

Also, does the card have at least one of each?:

  • DisplayPort port
  • VGA (or DVI-I) port

Pascal cards do have DisplayPort, but they do not have analog output. To get analog you'll need:

A. An HDMI/DisplayPort to VGA adapter

B. A Maxwell (900-series) or older card

I have 1 DP to VGA already. Thanks for the info.
